Have never been here before, the decor is great, very upscale. Great place for a date or nice family dinner. Came in for dinner around 7 pm, ended up sitting at the bar for a couple drinks, ended up staying there, it was slam packed. Beer and wine selection is small, but they were great choices. Ordered burrata with melon and prosciutto for the app, was pretty good. I got the meats pizza, and the lady got the Hawaiian. Both were really good. The service was excellent, although it seemed as if the kitchen was understaffed. We didn't eat until almost 8:30 pm, the kitchen was very much in the weeds. Again the service was great and they were very aware of it, but the food is worth the wait.

I had a really good friday lunch. Wine, pizza and pasta. Service was great too. I did recommend that place to some friends and they went and had a bad experience, so maybe it's not always great.

More on the comfort food side of Italian, but good just the same. Server got confused once and had to make some extra trips, but nothing to be bothered with.

I came here recently on a Saturday for lunch with my mom and two young daughters. The service was excellent and the food was amazing. My daughter got a kid cheese pizza and I was shocked how big it was! I could even snag a piece! We also got the Italian salad, spaghetti and meatballs, and the kids butter spaghetti. All the food was high quality (we are Italians, so we are picky when it comes to Italian food) and I felt like you got huge portions for the price. Also, one of the waiters brought over dough balls for each of my girls to play with while they waited for the food. It was such a sweet touch! We will definitely come back. I also ordered takeout from here tonight and the two pizzas (margherita and the meats) were also very good.

Started pleasantly with kind server but ended poorly. Took way too long for pizza. Ordered the truffle with prosciutto and arugula. When it came it has spinach and no arugula and no truffle and no mushroom. The server took it to kitchen and returned with no pizza and said they were out of arugula. I asked them to bring it back and I would try to eat it and then my son saw them picking all of the spinach but when server went to kitchen they took the same spinach and put it back on and brought it back out. I decided to just go with it but upon tasting it, it was just not good pizza. Not only was it not what I ordered, I waited 45 minutes plus to get it and it was just awful- crust tasted more like pita bread than pizza dough. With just two nights in Chapel Hill we are so disappointed to have spent it at Medici. Hope they can turn things around.

Had been here previously and had good experience. Not this time. Waiter was horrible. The place seemed completely understaffed. Took 20 minutes to get drinks. Waiter forgot to put in our appetizer order. We were a party of 9. When the entrees came out 4 of us got our meals and then the rest came out about 10 minutes later. The first four which were calzones were obviously sitting for a while as they were barely warm... we had two orders of meatballs that came out still cold in the center. Sent them back and when they brought out replacements they were cold in the center as well. It was virtually impossible to get drinks refilled. When pizzas came for the kids one was brought out completely uncut. A couple had burnt crusts. They were busy when we arrived but emptied out quickly. What should have been an hour or so to eat lunch took over two and a half hours. When we were done the waiter brought out our bill as if nothing unusual had happened. Never saw a manager until we asked at that point. Manager took our appetizers off bill and discounted the rest of it. We would have rather just had a nice lunch without all the problems.

Just had pizza for the first time today. Great flavors. We had the pepperoni and the Margherita. Both were delicious. Great sauce. Pepperoni was nicely spicy. Dough was just a bit tough but not enough to detract. Great prices too. The bill was $20. We will return, and return, and return....

Not a great restaurant. First time there we waited over an hour for our pizza to be told they ran out of dough. Server was inexperienced (no water refills, didn't check on us), and hostesses were not polite. We were given a pizza coupon to come back another time when they had dough. Decided to come back to use our coupon, only for it to again take over an hour to get our pizza, which tasted pretty mediocre. This time the service was really bad as our server just unloaded her bad day on us, talking at us about her problems for over 5 minutes, and several times (also asked us to put in a good word with her manager about her, which we definitely did not do), as well as ringing us up with the wrong bill. I wanted to like this place based on it's location, but I will not be returning.
