Now that Southside's "Dish Osteria" has closed, "131 Main" in Carnegie(PA) is our #I area restaurant! The chef just "nails it" every time! The menu is varied and each entree is unique in some way. It's NOT far-out ingredients that you don't have a clue what it may be. The staff is so friendly and helpful. They know each dish and give a detailed explanation. Great wine selection, great cocktails.
Check the menu online for prices and selections. There is a weekday "happy hour" at their bar also.
If you haven't been to Carnegie lately, you'll marvel at it's vitalization. There are unique shops and eateries. The metered curb parking and larger lot next to "131 Main" is FREE after 6 PM.
I can't believe it took us this long to try this place. Everything was on point. What's nice is you actually leave full compared to other fine dining experiences where you get a small plate and hit up a drive thru to fill you up. The Day Boat Scallop dish was amazing, glad I got eat my wife's leftovers. This will be a regular stop from now on. Highly recommended.
Wonderful! Good atmosphere and not overcrowded. Our server was helpful and attentive but not annoying. He answered all our questions and happily provided suggestions. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their drinks, starters and mains. The beef short ribs were awesome! We happened to run into the chef on our way out and he was very friendly and appreciative of our compliments. We will definitely be back.
Little gem in Carnegie that never disappoints. Staff know the menu well and are always friendly and happy to help with suggestions. Interesting cocktail choices, charming bar area. Worth a visit for sure!
Delicious! Must try in Carnegie! We made last minute reservations and they didn't have a table in the dining area but pushed two together in the front of the bar and it was perfect! The waiter was very well versed on the menu and answered all of our questions and offered great suggestions. Our table ordered the brussel sprouts which were different but very good. Both salad choices, beet and house were fresh and delicious as well. Our dinners were fantastic. Lamb noodle and the veal osso bucco. The Malbec Margarita was a great cocktail. We were very pleased and definitely will return.
A couple of weekends ago, we decided to try a place we'd heard a lot about: One Thirty One East. It's in Carnegie, across from Carnegie Coffee and next to the public parking lot. We were seated on the first level in the bar area. It's welcoming and cozy. The colors are deep blues, silver, and brown and there was a hint or sparkle/glitter to the curtains covering the windows. I ordered a glass of Chenin Blanc/Viognier, SP ordered iced tea and a Barrel Aged Last Word cocktail. I can't remember the description other than it was a gin cocktail. SP likes gin so he liked it a lot.
Best New Restaurant in a long time. Terrific bar, wait staff, and food. Beautiful sleek interior. Three apps and two entrees...all were fabulous.
Great new dining location in Main street Carnegie.
Waiter Dan is the Man!. Had a great evening last night. And all the "young" ladies in our party thoroughly enjoyed our drinks and meals. The garlic and white bean soup is a must try. Will definitely be visiting again.
What an amazing addition to the Pittsburgh dining scene. The cocktails are lovely. The food was amazing. Pricey, but worth every penny. I rank this place right up there with Salt of the Earth. Divine, you must try it.
Carnegie What!!!!. Soo I heard about this place from a friend and decided to check it out because the reviews on urbanspoon were amazing and boyyyyy were they right! !! First off shout out to dan the best waiter ever. He not only went over the specials, but he discussed with us every detail from the chef to his likes and dislikes (which there were none) he was genuinely concerned with making sure we had an excellent experience. I had the shrimp and grits which was considered an appetizer but was HUGE! Mussels, shrimp, andouille sausage perfection and lets talk about this amazing grit cake that came along with it it was buttery and melted in your mouth. My friend had the chicken and grits and she is super picky and ate till she thought she would burst! I definitely recommend this to place to anyone everyone. They don't advertise its word of mouth only so please get the word out. You won't regret it !! 2 thumbs up and if I had more they would be in.
Excellent dining experience....in Carnegie? YES!!. I had a date night opp Saturday evening and chose One Thirty One East; I was pleasantly surprised. The staff was extremely attentive and every dish I tried was out of this world. Kudos to the chef! The waistress was well versed in gluten free issues, which is always a plus. Don't let the location of this little gem fool you. It is very up-scale dining. I agree with one reviewer that the wait on the entree was a bit longer than I would have liked, but it was worth it. The meal was prepared and presented perfectly. I noticed that the bar area was very lively and the people seemed to be having a great time interacting with the bartender. I'd like to visit again and sample the drinks and happy hour appetizers.
Lived up to expectations. Had the Brussels sprouts app followed by the Osso bucco entre. Both were well presented and flavorful. Our server Sarah was knowledgeable and pleasant. Very cool that there are finally top notch dining choices in Carnegie. It's not just a shot and beer town anymore!
It’s somewhat upscale version of American cuisine. People in our group really enjoyed the meat choices. My salmon was good but not extraordinary. I would recommend this place for nice dinner with coworkers
Very well crafted! Our favorite place in the neg. By far the best restraunt in Carnegie! The pork chop is a solid choice!
Had a great dinner tonight. Jace was our server.... Got the meatball appetizer and Braised Short Rib and the Lamb Noodle main plate. Absolutely delicious. Cute restaurant..... Although Carnegie isn't the prettiest place, this was a gem and it's near a few places for before /after drinks also.
I’m not sure if I should open with WOW or DUUUUUUUUDE! Incredible hidden gem of a restaurant! Everything start to finish was great. The Malbec margarita stole the stage for drinks and the lamb noodle stole the entire show for the evening! Our server Fallon (like Jimmy Fallon) was great, she was spot on with her recommendations and friendly service! We will definitely be back!
This place is incredible. I can't recommend it highly enough. The service is kind, quick, and attentive. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. The menu is simple, honest food elevated to an impeccable level. The prices are reasonable, the selection varied, and the execution perfect. I will certainly be back on many occasions.
This place is just amazing. It was some of the best scallops I have ever had. Their soup was out of this world. Skip downtown and come here instead better food and less fussy than downtown.
