Looking to settle in at a comfortable neighborhood bar when you’re traveling in Carmel By The Sea? Brophy’s Tavern is it!. Brophy’s is on the corner of San Carlos and 4th. It’s just a short walk from Ocean Avenue, which cuts through the middle of downtown and heads down to the beach. It’s in the same building as the lobby of Hotel Carmel (formerly Dolphin Inn), where I was staying. If you’re not looking for it, you may miss the sign, but the locals definitely know about Brophy’s Tavern.
We really enjoyed Brophy's, The fish tacos were great, and not smelly at all. The Philly cheesesteak was excellent, and hot sauce lovers should definitely stock up on Brophy's own Crying Tongue Hot Sauce. Service was phenomenal and lots of games on all of the seven TVs. A must do for visitors who love pubs and sports!
Great service! The food was really exceptional as well, environment was pleasant and music was surprisingly great.
We have been coming to BROPHYS for about 4 years and we live it. We totally disagree w people who say nit a sports bar - we have watched critical big time games w a room full of cheering fans and had a great time. Food us awesome - highly recommend the potatoe skins ( ou Might have to ask for them) and the clam chowder us loaded. Go and see for yourself. The long island ice tea is killer. Great place - try it out - you will not be disappointed
Sandwiches were great and the hot wings were hot (HOT) enjoyed it enough to go back next time were in town
Hospitality Plus! Good Food & Fun!. Very comfortable, handsome Carmel sports bar and grill serves up tasty food at good prices. Extremely nice staff wants you there; wants you happy,; wants you to stay. Joe is the charming, cordial, hands on owner. The bartender, yet another attractive, polite young man. We had a fabulous time and appreciated the pampering. =D Must mention the TV layout works well. Really enjoyed all the baseball action.
