The best authentic MEXICAN food I have ever eaten. Hector and his family prepare every dish by hand, and you can taste the love in every bite. Tres leches cake is the best I've ever had.
Only my first time here. Had chicken fajitas and they were the best. Hector the owner and cook came out to say hello. If you like Mexican food you must try this place.

Good but Not Outstanding. My wife saw Valle of Mexico mentioned in an article in Buffalo Spree & we decided to try it for lunch. I ordered a beer but our server said they hoped to have a license for beer in the next week or so. The guacamole we ordered was excellent. Our lunches were good, the service was friendly & the kitchen was somewhat slow (as we expected from the previous reviews). If we lived in the South Buffalo area, we'd no doubt try it again but in our case it's not outstanding enough to drive across town.

Valle of Mexico is a casual restaurant in South Buffalo that is known for their authentic Mexican fare but also for their occasional service hiccups and long wait times. They have a large menu with prices that range from $3 tacos to $18 entrees. They serve dinner and lunch seven days a week, opening at 11am and closing at 11pm (10pm on Sunday). Our Meal : After reading several positive reviews (about the food) from knowledgeable foodie folks, we finally visited Valle of Mexico a couple weeks ago on a quiet Thursday night. When we arrived, the restaurant was mostly empty aside from three tables of guests. It took us a while to look over the menu at Valle of Mexico, but we settled on several dishes featuring different proteins. Our first order, Chilaquiles , arrived to the table very quickly. We received a large plate of fried tortilla chips simmered in a red tomato-based sauce and topped with cheese and onions. It was quite tasty and the portion was gigantic. It’s a simple dish that I really want to learn to make at home because it’s a different spin on your normal chips and salsa and perfect for snacking during a hockey game or when friends come over. Chilaquiles (Valle of Mexico) Luckily, we devoured the entire thing because it took over 30 minutes for our following courses to arrive. According to our server (who barely came over during our meal), the kitchen had to cook more pork because they had run out. Right as we were reaching our limit for wait times, our dishes started to arrive. We first tried an Al Pastor (pork with pineapple) Taco that was simple but delicious and served on a corn tortilla. We also ordered a Chorizo Torta, Chicken Enchiladas with Mole and a Carnitas Tostada. The Torta was ridiculous, basically a giant sandwich filled with a fried egg, re-fried beans, cheese, pickles, salsa and chorizo. I was really impressed by this “garbage plate on a roll”. Mexican food that is as authentic as it gets around here!. I really enjoyed "real" Mexican food, something that has been hard to find in the Buffalo area. There are other good Mexican restaurants, if Americanized Mexican is what you want. The Pozole, a hominy soup, is Mexican comfort food. It had a great depth of flavor. I asked the waiter, the owner's son, if they had any specials and ended up ordering Mole Verde con Carnitas. This dish had a nice earthy flavor, unlike anything I've experienced from Mexican food in these parts.
We had a very good first meal at Valle of Mexico. There's so much on the menu that I want to try that I'll have to plan a return trip very soon. While the food wasn't as cheap as the tacos and fare that we've enjoyed in Medina, it's much closer and there's a much larger variety. This is the most authentic menu that I've seen in Buffalo and from what we had, it's the best traditional Mexican cuisine in the area. I hope this family-run business continues to thrive and is met with much success. I will be sure to give you all the details of our next visit.
The service is slow. I'm telling you this now, to emphasize the fact that this is a five-star review for a place that takes a very long time to get your food.
It takes that long because it is not only the best, most authentic Mexican food in all of the Buffalo-Niagara region, but the best, most authentic ethnic food in the region.
The food is all fresh made and remarkable. There is a full bar, and an incredibly reasonably priced menu. If I could find a way to eat a meal there every day, I would. I love supporting local, family business and when it's this good, it's a no-brainer.
I've been patiently waiting for the Hamburg location to open. Anticipating genuine Mexican food that I am used to having being a transplant here from the West Coast and born in AZ. I was raised on Mexican food and I have to say that I am very satisfied with the food that Hector and his almost all Mexican staff makes. I tried several dishes with a variety of meats all that were seasoned to my particular taste. Very authentic indeed! I will for sure be back for more!!!
