The burgers really are superlative; huge, juicy and cooked evenly throughout. You will like the burgers. I must agree with some of the service complaints though. It took me a while just to be acknowledged as wanting to be seated, let alone actually seated. My actual server gave a good effort though. A place that offers some pretty good variety as well.
Absolutely amazing food!! The prices are great for the food you get. Very laid back, so don't be in a rush. But the food is some of the best I've had, so I definitely recommend!
Great Burgers! While working in Tuckasegee, I was living in a hotel in Bryson City for a few months with no kitchen, so I ate out a lot. While I was here, I think I tried almost every burger on their menu, with the beef, boar, and bison patties, and never once was I disappointing.
Nothing fancy. While on a recent try to Bryson City we dined at Jimmy Mac's at the suggestion of the desk clerk at our hotel.
I ordered the fried mountain trout with a baked potato and green beans. The sides were decent and the trout was really good. It was nicely prepared, tasted fresh and was presented nicely on the plate.
My wife ordered their petite filet and reported that it was a decent steak for the price.
Not going to tell you this is a five-star restaurant but the food was good, the wait staff was pleasant and the food was served in a timely manner. All of this in a setting that provided a great atmosphere.
In all it's a solid "Like".

Excellent family restaurant. You can tell it's good because it's one of the favorites of the locals. Eat here whenever I'm in town.
We were camping in Bryson City and wanted something to eat but not wait in a line. We walked right in and in just a couple minutes we were seated. This place is in an older building and is definitely a diner. It’s been in business for a number of years. Our server got our order quickly and the food came out quickly. I got the Southwest Grilled chicken sandwich. Had cheese and salsa and onions. Very good. My wife got the Trout Bites appetizer. She picked to have them “blackened “. Her side was sweet potato fries. Her meal was great as well. Prices were very reasonable. We would definitely go back.
We very much enjoyed our lunch, the fried shrimp was hot and crisp. My husband had stuffed shrimp and we both had a baked potato. All very good food. Service was a little slow but worth the wait. We will be back to try other menu items. Like they said at the door Not fast food but good food.
Was here again this week. Blue burger was delicious. Bummer about not a lot of healthy sides choices. Very good waitress too.
Earlier...One meal, blackened chicken sandwich, was really great. The other, grouper, was way too tiny and overcooked. With all of the seafood on the menu, I thought that it would be fresh and good. The staff was a mix, some pretty good, others...meh. The place is cute. Know that they have live music, so that better be your thing (it isn't ours, while we're trying to talk over dinner).
Great restaurant! Gracie & Kimberly were amazing! These women were on a wait, super busy, and had to deal with some really rude people, and they still had a smile on their face and gave great service. The menu is large, lots of great things to choose from. The trout was fresh and cooked to perfection. Clam chowder was great! Highly recommend Jimmy Mac's, & will be back on my next visit.

The food was hot, fresh, and fantastic.
I ordered the Captain Macs. It is 2 huge filets (1 of grouper and 1 of catfish) with shrimp all fried. Omg they were huge! Plus 2 sides. Whew.
My husband ordered the chicken parmaesan.
Great food, they have a large selection, fresh trout, elk burgers, steaks and pastas. A small restaurant that gets full when the trains come in. Nothing fancy, just a local diner but great food and service
Amazing atmosphere and service, very nice family restaurant and a nice variety of food. The evening we ate dinner there they had live entertainment too! Definitely will go back next trip this way!
Attentive and friendly staff even though some servers called out. Had the grilled trout with fresh veggies and sweet potato fries.
Would recommend and will go back to try other items.
Update: came back and had the NY steak smothered with onions, mushrooms and mozzarella. Added baked stuffed shrimp (tinier than expected and only 4 vs the 5 stated on the menu). Everything was cooked to perfection! Great service too!
We dined here for lunch. I ordered the Stuffed Shrimp, and my friends ordered the Grouper, Elk Burger and Shrimp Alfredo. All delicious!
Super busy night with the Polar Express happening and they were working hard tonight! The food was well worth the wait! Highly recommend the mozzarella sticks and the table winner was the apple sauce, seriously try the apple sauce! The buffalo burgers were delicious as well. 100% recommend this spot. You may wait and that is ok, it is worth it!
