We waited at the entrance for 10 minutes a lady in front desk was talking to another woman, then she asked me how many of us I said two adults and two children she said ok and went to another table to take the order was another 10 minutes, and then she went to the kitchen and we all waited 5 more minutes and no one came to us. this awful service is just awful. Imagine what kind of food there is. I do not recommend this place to anyone.👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

Small russian place with 2 TV screens on walls. Restaurant is decorated with russian wooden dolls - matryoshka and fully fit all expectations about russian restaurant. All the time russian pop music, service is fast but don't ask your waiter about "best thing in the house". "Everything is good" will be answer. Apparently all soups are extremely good. Vareniky - vegetable Ukrainians dumpling was just eatable and the kholodets - beef jelly or aspic - seems freeze not cold. Could be better, much better.

I came here with my kids who live in NJ, they wanted to try real good traditional russian food. That was their first visit to this place, mine second. We tried few different dishes, and everything was very delicious! Beef tongue was amazingly tender, so was the fried beef liver, my kids loved everything, and said that the next their visit in Brooklyn we would come to this place definitely again

I come in the first time to this place by recommendation of my frieds. The time was 1pm, at lunch time, the place was empty. I ask the waiter for reservation for four people. We seat down for a very narrow table served with huge plates. The service started not proffecional way. First he start asking h what I want to eat, then he went pick up a paper write down the order. When he come back, he forget that there 4 people and bring drinks for 2 people only. We wait long for food, but then he bring not what we asked. The food is tasty, hot and delishious. No parking around. Great cheap price... Special &7.50_$12.50 plus tax

First and foremost - the food is excellent! The beef stroganoff is cooked the traditional way with melted butter, the salads are made out of fresh vegetables and are served with the perfect balance of vinegar, oil and dill, I haven't had a better salad anywhere else. The cook will also listen to any wishes and suggestions and will make adjustments as needed. Free WiFi that works, clean bathrooms, mostly friendly staff and no long wait times. They cake credit cards as well, a true rarity in a small Russian restaurant! Those were the good parts, now the bad/strange ones : -there is no Snapple or Coke, as a matter of fact you're limited to cans of Pepsi or Russian "kompot" drink, some weird mineral water and cappuccino made inside a cheap cappuccino machine out of coffee beans that are just as cheap. -there is a very strange 10% "service charge" that shows up on every check, I call it "strange" because the writers swear that they get none of it and it a goes to the restaurant in an attempt to cover the expenses. I never got a straight answer out of anyone there of what this charge is for. -their AC has two temperatures: too cold and too hot -the only choices of beer are drafts, Stella and some weird foreign beer I've never heard of. The mug isn't chilled so the beer that wasnt that cold to begin with gets warm pretty quickly. -the desserts don't taste fresh closer to the evening, the selection is kind of limited as well. -the waters are not very attentive whether it's busy or not but are good enough for a place like that I guess. Maybe I'm nitpicking but i had to get up many times to refill my son's drink because the waiter was absent for long time periods, not too convenient. Overall I love the place but they really need to improve in their refreshments department and remove the ridiculous service charge or, at the very least, explain what it's for.

We were visiting our relatives in New York and they brought us to this place. We are used to Russian restaurants in Los Angeles and we visited several Russian restaurants in New York. However, this place is the best. The food is so delicious. We cannot even say what is the best here. We loved homemade sausages and pelmeni and everything that we tried from the menu. There is a popular desert in Russia called Napoleon. We have never ever tried any Napoleon better than in Slavyanskiy Bazar.

The food was okay, nothing more. We came for the party, and had to wait for next dish to be brought the whole time. But worst of all, both of their bathrooms didn't work, so guests had to go to next door store to the bathroom, which was filthy. ...
