We had a reservation for 12 yesterday at 3PM before heading back to Dyker for the lights. They gave us a table in the back room which was perfect because we had 5 small kids running around and we didn’t bother anyone back there. Our waiter was Alfredo (?) who was wonderful and attentive. He engaged with the kids, had stories for the adults, and he and the bus boy were incredibly patient. The food was great, my out of town relatives enjoyed a treat of good Brooklyn Italian food. They loved it. My only comment is the shrimp scampi could have used a little more garlic. We had a great family dinner!

My husband and I relocated to upstate NY a year ago and this restaurant is one of the things we miss the most about Brooklyn. We ate here all the time and one meal was better than the next in addition to a great atmosphere and wonderful staff. Happily we’re returning for a visit to Brooklyn shortly and I’ve already made our dinner reservation. Can’t wait.

The eggplant parm was excellent, as was the seafood risotto. Flavorful and well cooked. The dessert was mediocre though. Not sweet enough, the dark chocolate was too bitter.

I took my friend to Il Colosseo. It was my second time dining here. The food, service, and ambience was awesome. The owner (Gulio) was over the top with his hospitality. Good conversation and he treated us to a sample of an authentic amaro drink from Italy. Who could ask for a better simple evening out. Oh, my friend plans to take her husband there very soon! And of course I will also.

My uncle lives walking distance from this place and he is a regular here. I have ordered out a few times and this is the first time I dined in. The service was great and the Calamari, the Penne Broccoli Rabe and the Linguine alle Vongole was OUTSTANDING! Although, I did not order any pizza this time around, their pizza is also 5 stars! Do yourself a favor and give them a try!
