Oaxaca Taqueria

First time ordering and I am not happy. I ordered chips and dip … that’s it … they sent me dip with no chips . I have called 3 times in 30 minute intervals and 2 out of 3 times someone answered. She was nice on the phone, apologetic and I was calm and flexible. However it’s been over an hour and a half and still no chips . This restaurant is 1 block away from my house and I am still waiting for chips. Needless to say, I don’t have faith that they will get a bigger order right so … yeah… never ordering from here again.

Make sure you check the price of the items verses what they charge when its rang up. I order a cheese quesadilla which cost $7.50 with tax it's $8.17. However my card alerted me that I was charged $9.29. I asked the cashier why and she fiddled around looking extremely nervous when i asked her. I asked for a receipt and she said she did not know how to print the receipt. 🙄She then said she would text her manager and ask how to print the receipt which i never received. I also still never received a response as to why I was charged extra. Someone I know had the same experience. This cashier could secretly be tipping herself without your knowledge. Her name is Marilyn.

So many veg options! The smoked mushroom taco is a delight. Fast and friendly service every time I visit. (It would be cool to have an Impossible taco too!) 6 months later: The last two times I've been here have been terrible. The mushroom taco used to be smoked, now it's not even seasoned. The jackfruit tacos were way too sour. Everything was dry. Maybe different cooks, but I won't chance it again.

I really enjoy the vegan options for protein at Oaxaca, especially the “chicken” in the burrito pictured. I haven’t even gotten around to trying the other faux animal meat because I like the chicken so much.. but maybe I will eventually. The burritos are a good size, the service is pretty quick, and the veggie assortment in the burrito is nice (pickled onions are my fav).

I always think this small ny chain will be better than it is, but it’s always pretty terrible. Sometimes you’ll get lucky and it’ll be pretty good and then the next time the beans will be rock hard the burrito will be like 90% pickled onions the cheese in a quesadilla won’t even be a little melted. Just kinda a disaster place. Go to Tepache down the block.
