Exquisite Delight

Incredible. Everyone has their preferences and that’s beautiful, but let me just say… Peppa who? 😂 my husband swears by the jerk and bbq chicken. I swear by the salmon plate and any side item. One time I was riding in a shared Uber from the city and two women from London told me they were coming to Brooklyn just for Exquisite. Yes, it’s that good!!! The workers are awesome (be nice, they’re always busy). Their prices have raised 2-3x since 2020 but honestly they deserve it and I’m happy to pay it. I’ve been eating here since 2015 and it’s consistently amazing.

Exactly what you want out of a Jamaican fast food spot. Got the small oxtail plate but there was nothing small about it. Generous portions, price was reasonable and that succulent oxtail meat fell right off the bone! There’s a few stools to eat at the window but majority of people get their food to go.

I got the small jerk chicken. Firstly I’d like to say the chicken was bomb but the service even if they’re not all smiles and eager to serve you they are extremely helpful! The woman at the counter helped me pick which vegetable and the woman serving me suggested I try the oxtail gravy on my rice even after I already paid. I asked what a couple more things were because I’m not very familiar with Jamaican cuisine. Everyone helped me learn even some costumers! Definitely will be back to try the “stewpeas” as recommended to me.

We were hankering for a lunch place and found this joint cause we were intrigued by their menu offerings. We ended up ordering a $20 large combo plate of lamb curry and oxtail for takeout; it also came with vegetables and rice. When we got home, we found that the bowl was PACKED to the brim and more than enough to feed two people. The meal felt very much like soul food or comfort food to me, even though I’m Vietnamese HAHA — the rice was delicious and had beans in it, the vegetables were yummy and a great change in texture, and the meat itself was marinated in just the BEST sauce and super tender. The rice mixed with the oxtail sauce in particular was SO good, and we were scraping the tin clean for it. Glad to know there’s such a great food joint near me!
