Wonderful. As stunning as the food was, and it was stunning, it had to compete for the praisr with the fantastic service. I've never witnessed such friendly and enthusiastic staff. Highlights from the food we had were the Autumnal Gratin, Fagoddau (meatballs) and the Lamb Pasty, all gorgeous. But the absolute highlight was the Seafood Cawl which was stunning. Thank you all.
This establishment is fantastic. So welcoming with excellent drinks and food and outstanding staff. Would recommend everyone visits.
Atmosphere and meals blend in a perfect manner worthy of Wales and the competitive New York City food scene. Try their pork. Quite delicious. Their desserts are tasty as well.
Wonderful cocktails. Seaweed puff was surprisingly yummy. Lamb pasty was fantastic.
Explosive flavors in unique offerings. Had four different plates to share with the two of us, and loved every single item, plus the opening of fried seaweed! Excellent service, and shhhh...would even consider it a bargain. One of the best new places of 2016!
* Tapas style Welsh food is delicious
* The host is an absolute blast
* The long wooden tables and decoration depicting scenes from the Welsh mythology of 'Y Mabinogion' really add to the atmosphere
* Definitely worth a trip with a group of friends and family or for something a little more romantic for two
Visited the Sunken Hundred in September 2017 as part of a stag do / bachelor party from Bermuda. The stag was a Welsh ex-pat so we thought the Sunken Hundred would fit the bill. We arrived across from Manhattan and were handled superbly by Illtyd the owner and all the staff. The venue is cozy and nicely decorated with some Welsh themed items. Dai M for Merthyr :). The menu has some Welsh classics including rarebit and cawl. They let us sing, which seemed to go down well with the other diners, which was nice. All in all a great experience and I will definitely be back. Even the English lads enjoyed it!
Fantastic spot... Fun crowd... And they feature a delicious Welsh whiskey you won't find anywhere else. Happened in here tonight while singing carols and loved it. Will be back. Rugby fans: they show 6 Nations!
Da iawn! Welsh heritage with Spanish influences combine to make a cosy eatery full of fine fare. Penderyn is available; alas, no Brains, but the lamb pasty is solid. The fish churros are an interesting take on battered fish, and I'm eagerly awaiting the cawl. Glad to see a new Welsh flag flying in Cobble Hill. Come eat here now.
Lovely atmosphere abd delicious Welsh dishes!!!
Great food! Traditional Welsh favorites with some interesting touches. Seaweed mustard was very tasty.
The finger food was good; I especially enjoyed the desserts. The waitresses were the best: very friendly and conversational. Too bad the menu never grew and it seems the place closed down.
