The decour was very interesting and the beer/service was great. The next time I come out from Arizona this will be one of my first stops!!
Great food and a great staff. I will definitely be coming back!
We were going to Little Purity Diner but it was packed at 1145am on a Thursday morning, so we walked a couple of more blocks and tried this place. I had a white bean and kale soup and a frittata. My daughter had the scrambled eggs with bratwurst. My wife had the wiener schnitzel sandwich. Portions were generous and tasty. There's a lot of natural light with great advertisements in German all around. The bar had some great beer selection but as we were on our way to a parent-teacher conference, I'll have to return another day. The service was attentive, which seemed right since there was only one other table occupied. All in all, pretty good experience!
Very nice place. Good Austrian style food, atmosphere and service. I however do not understand why they had old GDR "Brot" sign hanging in there, this being an Austrian and German comfort food these restaurant. I guess for some people old communist signs are comforting, lol.
Excellent drinks with great food and great service! Everything about Cafe Steinhof was is on point when my wife and I go there. We've been three times and never let down. A great place to eat or drink in Park Slope.
Nice Brooklyn chic interior with Austrian decor elements. Friendly staff. Laugenprezel was ok, but a bit too crunchy. Spatzle were great - though personally I prefer Swiss style to Austrian. Cod and corn chowder was delicious and perfect for a warm lunch after frigid walk in prospect park. Very nice warmed linzertorte for desert.
Pretty good Austrian place. Very nice environment and the food is tasty as well. They have outdoor seating.
Friendly and relaxed but well attended staffs with great food and drinks! Love the cozy / vibrant and low key environment.
Beautifully decorated yet still very chill. Very good German / Austrian food. Great find.
Fantastic German fare and beers in a nice location. The place has real charm. Very child friendly, welcomed us in with a baby in a stroller and 4 year old. Gets busy from about 7pm. We tried some dishes we'd never had before such as the bread dumplings with mushroom and red wine sauce which was absolutely delicious! There was plenty of choice for our group of all vegetarians. The sausages looked amazing as well as a the charcuterie & cheese board. All the food was lovely. Our waitress was very attentive, especially for New York.
Recently started going to this place more. The staff is very friendly, they have a good selection of beers and a nice menu. Aside from German and Austrian food (all the different sausages and Wiener Schnitzel), they actual have a Hungarian dish (Gulash). Tried a variety of the dishes and liked them all.
My 7 year old daughter always gets the chicken schnitzel and loves it.
They serve great glüwein, Belgium beers, and various soups & sausages. It's a casual laid back kind of pub style eatery with plenty of options. The wait staff is friendly and able to explain the dishes & desserts. Highly recommend if you're in the area and want some Austrian-German food, beers, or both!
