This isn't one of the best restaurants I've eaten at in Brooklyn alone; it's one of the best restaurants I've eaten at, period. The owners of this restaurant do everything right--from the distinctive food selections to the accommodating staff and service--and what a wonderful atmosphere! It's not too frilly, not too Spartan, but the right amount of chic, hip, and casual city vibe with an intimate, friendly feel. If you're in the Big Apple, this is the place to have a bite! (y)

Fantastic place with a great environment. Our friend brought us here during our weekend visit because it's her new favorite place to go. The owner Liam came out and personally greeted everyone when we were there which was awesome. He gave a really nice explanation about a white wine we should try (which was a great call) and the food was delicious. Highly recommend this place and we'll come back next time we're in town

I just moved into the Denizen a month ago and I love it. Its an extremely clean building, and the staff is really nice. You can tell they invested a lot into making this space nice. I legit feel like I live in a hotel. My friends are always impressed whenever they come over. The building is huge and I think there are some places I haven't even explored yet. Reserving the amenities and events isn't as seamless as you'd expect it to be for a building like this. The app/web service they use seems a little outdated. I'm seeing other reviews complain about amenity fees, which I have sympathy for, but the building is pretty transparent about pricing when you move in. It's NYC, fees are expected. My favorite part about the building is the community. I love having neighbors that look like me, and that I can hangout with. I've been living in Bushwick for 14 years now. and the location of the Denizen makes it my favorite apartment that I've lived in.

Previously I left a negative review because I had moved to the building because of the boxing gym and social amenities to find out that I couldn’t really use them the way I needed to for my business and leisure. However, they fixed their policy! It was very nice to see the building listen to their tenants, now the tenants can use the gyms and amenities with a few friends. So here is my review. Let me start off by recommending this building to personal trainers. If you see clients one at a time you can absolutely conduct your business here, I am a boxing instructor and they have a legitimate full scale boxing gym with a regulation ring, heavy bags and speed bags. The regular gym is honestly comparable to smaller, but not much smaller equinox. It’s huge for an apartment gym equipped with a rock wall, tons or treadmills and cardio machines, as well as free weights and assisted machines for any kind of fitness enthusiast. I can’t speak for body builders, but I do see a lot of serious fitness people and influencers using the gym daily. There is a super nice bowling alley, a really cute and fun arcade, a movie theater, a spin room, yoga studio, party room, brewery, GOLF SIMULATOR. Also there is a really lovely cafe in the building that makes great food and drinks. The roof is where I do my laps and spend a good portion of my day, it has amazing city views and is very well kept, with grills, plants, lounge chairs and different sections. The side of the building I live on is about 1/6th of a mile walk to do a full lap! The apartments are very nice and affordable for what they are and what the building provides. They have a great, super friendly front desk staff that really take care of you! Yes there is a pool, and yes we all complain that it’s not open, but with everything else the building has it’s better just to pretend it’s not there and appreciate the value you’re getting... but I know it’s there and I really wish it was open sooooooooonnnn! ;)

I have lived here for almost a year and love how convenient everything is, the building has it all, amazing amenities, classes and social events for tenants. Having a gym in the building, a mail room and laundry in unit has been great for working from home. I visit the cafe nearly everyday and the staff is so lovely. Nothing can beat the views and the amazing murals throughout this space. The Denizen has really been thought out well, all units are completely unique and it is a great place to live!

I was initially skeptical about moving in based on all of the negative reviews, but as soon as I met Vlad, I had a really good feeling about him - he's very friendly and honest and he addressed all of the issues from the past and what they were doing differently now, such as bringing in an entirely new building management team recently. I trusted him and I've been greatly rewarded for it. The building is absolutely wonderful and all of the staff are really friendly and helpful. Have not had a single issue with the management and the requests I have made were all handled quickly. Would highly recommend this place.

Two weeks before Christmas, my husband and I began looking for a new apartment. Mind you, we were casually looking and The Denizen peeked our interest. Long story short, we met with Vladimir Baron a couple times to view the different apartments available. He was AMAZING, great personality, down to earth, grounded, and hilarious! In the end, we made a decision out of our two favorite and Vladimir helped make the choice easy for us. Fast forward, we LOVE our new apartment and the move happened fairly quick! We weren't officially looking in the first place. The building overall is clean and, so far (3 weeks in) the staff all seem to be extremely friendly. The amenities are everything (who doesn't love convenience)! And surprisingly the floors are eerie quiet (lol) Not sure how that's possible with the amount of tenants on each floor! Love it!

I've lived here now for 11 months and, contrary to a few of the negative reviews below, have had an awesome experience. (I think it's definitely the small minority of unhappy people who feel compelled to write those kind of reviews.) There are many terrific things about this building, including especially the views. I have an amazing panorama from my exterior-facing window of the NYC skyline. Yet, even if you have an interior courtyard view, the enormous walk-around roof offers a panoramic 365 degree views of Manhattan and Brooklyn. It's always a huge "Wow!" moment whenever I have even the most jaded New Yorkers over to visit. The amenities are extraordinary--and this is coming from someone who left a very fancy, luxury building on the UWS. For example, the gym is incredible, complete with rock climbing wall and boxing ring (both of which are not my thing but appreciate having them there.) It is true that the pool looks astonishingly great but isn't opened yet despite a vague "soon we hope" promises when I moved in. That's disappointing since I am a swimmer but I get that it's about the basic fact that construction in NYC always takes about twice as long as people think. On the other hand, the fitness classes that do exist--and I regularly take five a week, from yoga to HIIT to spin-- are all quite excellent. Even my old UWS building did not offer that. This is also by far the most dog-friendly building I've ever lived in. I have a chocolate lab and in my previous UWS building although she was loved by all the staff, it was a challenge getting her approved by the board because she wasn't a tiny thing. The Denizen is perfect for her with a roof walk that allows us to do an easy lap or two, shielded a bit from the wind (at her level), and with a small dog run if she's feeling social. If you have a dog, this is the perfect environment. Re: other complaints in reviews below.... There has been some turnaround with staff, especially when I first moved in, but there's a solid core of EXCELLENT front desk people who are reliable and friendly and have been around for most of the time I've been here. Having someone running package room has been invaluable for me. Also, I'm very noise sensitive and that has not been a problem at all. It's possible I've really lucked out and gotten very quiet neighbors but I never hear anything that would disturb me. (Same with smells etc....not sure how you "smell-proof" a building, anyway.) Re: the management... It's true that when I moved in the washer / dryer wasn't installed but that arrived within two days. The other handful of problems I've had (two smoke detectors suddenly becoming defective on two different occasions and beeping non-stop, an electrical outlet not working properly) were all fixed very quickly. I'm lucky enough (meaning I pay more $$$) to have one of the few dozen apartments with a terrace but it is absolutely worth it. If that's something that appeals to you and it's in your budget, this is an enormous opportunity at a fraction of NYC costs. Having coming from a relatively parallel situation with a terrace on the UWS, I can say that I actually prefer this building in terms of look and feel. As a design-obsessed person, I couldn't be happier. Also, the public spaces are spectacular and unique. See the photo below of one of the lobby areas. Finally, there's Bushwick itself which is right at your feet. I love that there are still interesting edges here, real graffiti and grit on the street, yet also cool coffee shops and hangouts, amazing restaurants and bars, and chic vintage stores everywhere. It's basically a hipster utopia and if you're interested in design, or dogs, or being in an up-and-coming neighbor in a luxury, amenity-rich building...check the Denizen out!

What a fun place to live! :) Last night I came home from a late afternoon-night out of festivities (archery and dinner) and enter the lobby to hear someone playing piano. I have a beautiful place with an enormous patio (considering it’s the city) which I decorated with lights, a planter and lounge/dining area. It’s very private and quiet. The pool is opening next Saturday which is huge! The gym is great to use and so convenient. Absolutely love it here!!! 5 stars. FYI- smart management no longer runs the building, though I never had any issues!

I just moved in and I love the building. The management team is really responsive and help as much as possible even through the transition since they are new ownership/management. The building is beautiful and has great amenities. Very happy to be living here!😁

My experience has been pleasant here at Denizen. Management team and leasing is helpful when I have questions, this building is very unique and has many amenities I personally love the bowling ally and the movie theater and now they have added parking so my friends do not have to circle the block 100 times which is cool.

I really liked living here - my apartment was modern and super cute and the amenities are OFF THE CHARTS. A big plus: the staff could not be nicer. I had to move away for work and I miss my apartment a lot. Whenever I had guests they said it was like living in a beautiful hotel. It's beautiful and modern and fun and there are gorgeous murals throughout. They go out of their way to make the tenants feel important and special with parties, get togethers, happy hours, movie nights, and WAY more. And the rooftop is unbelievable. Definitely recommend!!
