I made a special trip from Manhattan to try out this place and I was not disappointed at all. I ordered a regular slice and a Grandma slice. Both slices had the perfect amount of cheese and sauce, and the crust was crispy. The owner also seemed very nice. I highly recommend this place. One thing to note is that there is no restroom in the establishment.
This is your classic, tasty pizza place. But even better! This is the reason why pizza tastes amazing. First off— their Grandma Slice/Pie. Amazing! The perfect amount of crunchy dough, with a tasty, smooth sauce and cheese. (Same about the toppings, too!!) Second— the fresh mozzarella pizza slice/pie!! Definitely better than the regular cheese pizza, and it’s delicious! You get to watch the staff (and even the owner[s]) make it fresh out, and in the oven. They have good choices, and the atmosphere? Yeah, welcome to “The Pizza Plaza,” where there is pizza everywhere. The service is also really good, quick, but efficient at what they are doing. Really happy this place is still up and running, and happy 50th anniversary! (P.S: I really recommend ordering ahead, it will still be fresh since they keep it In the oven until you’re there, and you don’t have to wait in the usually long line.)
An absolutely amazing spot in Brooklyn for a New York slice! We got a classic cheese, a Grandma, and a fresh mozzarella. They were all delicious and everyone had a different favorite. The seating is very limited, but the staff was beyond helpful!
Luigi's goes toe to toe with the best pizzerias in NYC. I loved everything about our experience. The staff were friendly and helpful, the shop has just a perfect classic pizza vibe. Really enjoyed watching the owner make the pies, you can tell he just loves what he does. The family's story is amazing and I love that they believe in keeping prices reasonable so everyone can afford it. Oh, and they filmed a scene from Adam Sandler Big Daddy movie here. So it's an iconic spot.
Our slices were amazing. We got a Margarita slice straight out of the oven. It was so good I'm still dreaming about it. The square slice was also excellent and the Grandma slice looked great too. I don't think you can go wrong with anything.
While I like Di Fara slightly better, the fact that Luigi's can pump out such high quality pizza at such reasonable prices earns them a tie for my favorite pizza in NYC. If you are coming to the city for pizza, you have to stop and check out Luigis!
My husband and I went to stay in Brooklyn for a week for the first time ever. We fell in love with Brooklyn and explored as much as possible in that time. We ended our "Pizza tour" with Luigi's for our last night there and it was AMAZING! We haven't stopped talking about the slices since. If only we could find pizza like this in Houston lol!
This place deserves higher praise as one of the best pizza spots in the city.
Family owned, with a friendly staff, they were pumping out pizzas non stop when I stopped by.
The plain pizza was the perfect combination of cheese and sauce; the margherita slice was even better. A staple for any NYC pizza list.
This place should be on your NYC pizza list. If you love crispy, thin crust pizza, this is for you. Every single bite was perfectly crispy. We tried a pepperoni slice and a fresh mozzarella slice and they were both fantastic. The space was fairly small inside but they had an outdoor seating area available in the summer.
A top spot and always underrated but it does depend when you come and what you get here. If you just roll the dice on a slice that may have been sitting for a while then you’re going to be disappointed. They don’t keep or travel well. If, you order a whole pie and get it straight away then you’re in for a treat. The crust holds the slice well and the sauce is really good. Very affordable, No fills place, recommended!
The owner Giovanni is an awesome guy and I had the pleasure of hanging out and chatting with him for a few minutes while I was waiting for my pizza. There’s a reason why this place is so highly rated, it’s delicious! However, I will be honest and say Di Farra has the edge over Luigi’s. Just my honest opinion. Also, I liked the square slice over the regular pizza slice as the crust was MUCH crispier.
Good following Luigi's Pizza on Instagram for a while and decided to make it a stop while I was in the New York area
We got a fresh cheese slice just out of the oven which was pretty good your typical Old School pizza shop I believe the legend was there Gino seemed to busy so I didn't wanna bother him.
Good classic cheese slice
