Fives all around. Stepped into a unique and amazing atmosphere. Dark wood and stained glass, huge open space but separate bar and dining area. The decor made me forget we were in Brooklyn, but the local support rang through. While we were there, I watched two locals waiting for take out. Both of them gave a wave to the bartender/manager on their way out and one employee said "see you tomorrow". Real neighborhood vibes. Two other patrons struck up some cheeky conversations with me. Very welcoming. Never got an "outsider" feel. Our server Lauren was awesome! Very pleasant and checked in with us at just the right times. She didn't flinch when I asked for a glass of milk. And when I inquired, she gave me some very detailed descriptions about upcoming special events and fun things at The Monk. Her genuineness could not be overlooked. She's been there for some time. She knew the story about dishes we asked about without hesitation. And she gave cheery banter to a local waiting for food. Again, good vibes! Cheers Lauren! I had the steak sandwich, which was freshly cooked then sliced to order. Not pre-cooked and reheated slices. My father got the potatoe balls which were amazing. Dont sleep on these guys! Both recommended. Unsweetened iced tea was FRESH, bright tasting. Like real brewed. Unlike other places. Cocktail and FULL Whisky menu. By the glass. And as someone who adores Jameson, I plan on spending a night in the near future going through some of the ones offered. Some I've never seen before. I'll also have to compare them to the wide array of other whiskeys on the menu. You know, to be fair :) I joked that if I lived locally I'd be there every night. Parking is Brooklyn street parking. There are two pay lots about 4/5 blocks away. But I noticed the street spots open more frequently than you'd think. It's all stores and small businesses on the block. All around great experience. I'm trying the wings next visit. Until next time Wicked Monk! Sainte! -Doc

It’s a lovely gem with a blurred segregation between restaurant and bar. Choose your own adventure. The medieval church aesthetic adds a unique experience with a great menu to match. Drink list is wide and impressive. Service has consistently been fast, attentive & kind. Great place for sports as well. There’s a few memorable Irish themed starters I’ve never seen elsewhere. Entree options with great classics makes it hard to choose. I had the Chicago style Italian beef recently and I couldn’t find a photo on google. It was amazing and I felt the need to provide pics for other patrons and hopefully that one stays on the menu. Best restaurant bar in bay ridge

This is one of the best bar/restaurants in the neighborhood. Friendly staff, a generous beer selection, and a surprisingly good kitchen make for a great date night or just a casual drink after work. Highly recommend!

Great spot for an Amstel and a cup of potato leek soup. Best meal I’ve had in a long time! Plenty of televisions too if you like that.

This is one of my favorite pubs in the area because they have an awesome selection of craft beers. The staff isn’t super knowledgeable on the rotating selection, but it’s fine. The food is hit or miss, but the wings are always decent. Service is always friendly. Not the best place for sports, but not the worst either. Happy to have this spot in the neighborhood.

I came here on a Sunday afternoon with my family the food was good but it wasn’t great it was missing some seasoning but overall good. The atmosphere is amazing and the architecture is great. I really recommend it for families as well. Service was also good with live music playing most nights. I really recommend the bao buns and potatoes and leek soup.

Had a good time, atmosphere was relaxed and friendly, sports on the TV's, food was great, really enjoyed the Philly Mac and cheese, chicken pot pie and the big pretzel with cheese, the cheese that came with the pretzel was very delicious, good variety of beers on tap or bottle, would definitely go again.

I would recommend a reservation. The tables filled up quickly. Service was very fast and a team effort. Multiple attentive people made sure our table was well cared for. The atmosphere is friendly and the bangers and mashed were delicious. The Mac and cheese dish is large and reportedly very good.

I always passed wicked monk and wanted to stop in and finally did with my wife and friend last Saturday. I love there decor and the feel of old school wooden bar style, I got the fish and chips which I liked very much my wife got a burger with some fries and my friend got a broil style seafood mix that also looked good. For our appetizer we got a potato leak soup which for the first time having it I have to say taste excellent!!!! If your a craft beer connoisseur as I am this place also has some very good craft beer on tap. I definitely will be coming back to try something new next time
