Review El Almacen - Brooklyn

Can’t say enough about this place. Tiny hidden place but so good food. We went for early brunch but by the time we were done, it was super packed. So pro tip, go in early. Order anything from their menu, you definitely can’t go wrong. Its little Pricey but its Williamsburg. But definitely worth it and would definitely recommend.

Such an amazing place to eat! The food there was unbelievable and the staff was just as wonderful. The steak melts in your mouth with flavor and tenderness, the fries were truffle and it melted in your mouth as well! Wasn’t a long wait for the food or drinks they are very fast and courteous. You will have a great time with family and friends if this is the type of food your looking for, it’s Spanish heritage so it’s going to have flavors from around the globe ! I was impressed with how much we enjoyed our time there! Thanks again ;)

One of my favorite restaurants in New York! Everything on their menu is great, and worth coming back for. The portions are great, too. Make sure you come hungry.

Went here for my 30th birthday dinner and enjoyed several items. Started with guacamole, empanadas and then moved onto our our entrees. All excellent! The atmosphere was quaint and romantic. Excellent and prompt service. Thanks for a fabulous dinner!

Great steaks, Argentinian food and Yerba mate. Also, they have a good selection of Latin American wines and drinks, and are overall great for dates. Please note that the ambience is very new-Brooklyn-ish!

Well, this turned from an initial lukewarm interaction with the hostess by phone to an amazing night. I'm traveling with two kids in NYC for a week and a half, and it's challenging to find food, even now with them being open-minded tweeny-boppers (oxymoron, I know) on cuisine. Once we walked in earlier in the evening with no reservation and were then seated with no time limit, it was quality all the way, minus the less-than-flavorful mate borracho I started with the empanadas. The kids went crazy for the food. The empanadas were tasty, although the canned/unseasoned corn in the spinach/corn/cheese one could have been roasted corn for more depth of flavor. The steak and paella were truly wonderful. Cooked medium minus, it was really tasty. The paella looks small, but we had a 13-year-old boy, my 10-year-old, and I mopped up almost all of the food. Wonderful. Bonus: Their wine menu is significantly Argentinian, and the Rivus PN was a great pairing with the paella. Get a bottle. The taste I had of it was open for at least half the day. It's not cheap, but not horrible -- $192 for three people to eat with one bottle of wine, one before-dinner cocktail, two main courses, and one dessert. The service was really marvelous, too, and patient with my crew.

The short ribs and rib eye are a must try. The atmosphere is great, dimly lit, very nice decor. Service was great. The presentation is well done.

Best meal I've had in a long time. The empanadas were sublime - light and fluffy and really tasty. Skirt steak melted in my mouth. Cocktails were refreshing and original.

Love love love El Almacèn! My boyfriend and I went on our first official date here and we had the best time. We've gone a few times since and the food and service are excellent. I love the stuffed pepper and beef rib tacos and my boyfriend is obsessed with the Churrasco.

Great atmosphere but food prices are expensive. Good cocktails!

This place is incredible! The octopus as a starter was delicious and the steak was perfectly cooked!

Absolutely delicious juicy steakS and fabulous avocado fries, salads, and so much more!! Atmosphere is beautiful and fun, upbeat yet sophisticated. Extensive wine selection and great cocktails... Truly hope it survives the pandemic. Love this place and we’ve already lost so many jewels in our culinary crown of a neighborhood!!

El Almacén is a great place to grab lunch/brunch or dinner. The ambiance is nice, food is delicious and the service was probably my favorite part of the experience. I came with a party of 4 and our server was attentive, gave great recommendations, and made our stay comfortable. Even without a reservation, we managed to slip in for a Sunday brunch. I'd recommend this place to anyone looking for great flavor profiles as well as good, attentive service.

This is a priced little spot! A great food! The ambiance is beautiful and rustic. The menu is sophisticated, simple and personally wanted to order everything! Great service. It has a very latinx long dinner service which is great for large parties and romantic dinner couples. Praises to the female server with the glasses and the hostess for being so accommodating with no reservation!

Great atmosphere, good food, good wine. If the weather's right, sit out back!

This is a lovely, moody little spot. Ideal for a date. I wouldn’t come here with friends as the place is pretty dark and the portions were very European (yep, I know this is a South American style restaurant). That said, the service was excellent, as was the food (and wine). I went with my brother, but I’d come back with my wife.

Seems a bit understaffed...we were left with menus for ten to fifteen minutes and then the waitress came and recommended the market fish, but we'd already decided what we wanted by then...she seemed annoyed that we didn't take her recommendation though. My steak was pretty good, my partner's vegetarian stuffed pepper was a bit bland. All in all, not the best for almost $100 for two people with only one alcoholic beverage.

Great atmosphere loved the Mate margarita the paella and meat & cheese platter a must try!!! I will return!!

To speak of this place one has to understand my history with it. Not only have I been going to this gem for the past 5 years for whether it's a fresh pasta dish creation or for my carnivorous urges which on both cases always satisfied. Could I be biased, perhaps but when it's a winning experience every time, then we'll, call me biased. What says so much about the entirety of this place is that one of the partners of the place, Eduardo Suarez actually helped me design my very own restaurant in the neighborhood, Fromage Garage, so there's my trust and confidence of what El Almacen means to me. But am always a big proponent that all shall make their own experiences so go and you be the judge, you won't be disappointed.

Great ambience, white sangria and off the hook Argentina authentic small plates the steaks the bomb

IF.. you're a meat eater and want the very best, then it is the place to be in Brooklyn and NYC in general.

Love this place! Amazing food and decor. The staff is so friendly. I wish we had it in miami

Absolutely fabulous meal. We shared appetizers - hamachi ceviche, beet and goat cheese salad, avocado fries, fish tacos, and calamari, with a bottle of Argentinean Tempranillo. Topped it off with dolce de leche French toast and coffee. Everything was fresh and superbly flavored and prepared.

Good eats, great wine selection, great location. It ain't cheap but worth the price on special occasions. The wait staff are also really welcoming.

Milanesas!! The best!! Try them a caballo with eggs or napolitana cheese and tomato sauce

Couple times a year we make the drive out from NJ to eat at El Almacen. Good service and quality food. Fun environment.

I liked every thing I ordered. Everything. The server was right when she said we can't go wrong with any of the items on the menu.

Truly outstanding food. Have eaten here many times and always left so happy. My favorite dishes are calamari, Brussel sprouts, churrasco and fried avocado. Love love love.
