Great atmosphere loved the Mate margarita the paella and meat & cheese platter a must try!!! I will return!!
Well, this turned from an initial lukewarm interaction with the hostess by phone to an amazing night.
I'm traveling with two kids in NYC for a week and a half, and it's challenging to find food, even now with them being open-minded tweeny-boppers (oxymoron, I know) on cuisine.
Once we walked in earlier in the evening with no reservation and were then seated with no time limit, it was quality all the way, minus the less-than-flavorful mate borracho I started with the empanadas. The kids went crazy for the food. The empanadas were tasty, although the canned/unseasoned corn in the spinach/corn/cheese one could have been roasted corn for more depth of flavor.
The steak and paella were truly wonderful. Cooked medium minus, it was really tasty. The paella looks small, but we had a 13-year-old boy, my 10-year-old, and I mopped up almost all of the food. Wonderful.
Bonus: Their wine menu is significantly Argentinian, and the Rivus PN was a great pairing with the paella. Get a bottle. The taste I had of it was open for at least half the day.
It's not cheap, but not horrible -- $192 for three people to eat with one bottle of wine, one before-dinner cocktail, two main courses, and one dessert. The service was really marvelous, too, and patient with my crew.
Can’t say enough about this place. Tiny hidden place but so good food. We went for early brunch but by the time we were done, it was super packed. So pro tip, go in early. Order anything from their menu, you definitely can’t go wrong. Its little Pricey but its Williamsburg. But definitely worth it and would definitely recommend.
Such an amazing place to eat! The food there was unbelievable and the staff was just as wonderful. The steak melts in your mouth with flavor and tenderness, the fries were truffle and it melted in your mouth as well! Wasn’t a long wait for the food or drinks they are very fast and courteous. You will have a great time with family and friends if this is the type of food your looking for, it’s Spanish heritage so it’s going to have flavors from around the globe ! I was impressed with how much we enjoyed our time there! Thanks again ;)
One of my favorite restaurants in New York! Everything on their menu is great, and worth coming back for. The portions are great, too. Make sure you come hungry.
Went here for my 30th birthday dinner and enjoyed several items. Started with guacamole, empanadas and then moved onto our our entrees. All excellent! The atmosphere was quaint and romantic. Excellent and prompt service. Thanks for a fabulous dinner!
Great steaks, Argentinian food and Yerba mate. Also, they have a good selection of Latin American wines and drinks, and are overall great for dates.
Please note that the ambience is very new-Brooklyn-ish!

The short ribs and rib eye are a must try. The atmosphere is great, dimly lit, very nice decor. Service was great. The presentation is well done.
Best meal I've had in a long time. The empanadas were sublime - light and fluffy and really tasty. Skirt steak melted in my mouth. Cocktails were refreshing and original.
Love love love El Almacèn! My boyfriend and I went on our first official date here and we had the best time. We've gone a few times since and the food and service are excellent. I love the stuffed pepper and beef rib tacos and my boyfriend is obsessed with the Churrasco.
Great atmosphere but food prices are expensive.
Good cocktails!
