Jp's City Island

Have not had a meal on City Island in some time. JP's is a hidden gem and not to be missed! John couldn't have been more gracious. The food was delicious and just kept coming! Shrimp, clams, and one of the best lobsters I have ever eaten. All fresh and prepared to perfection. Drinks were delicious too. Will definitely be back soon. Thank you again to John and his terrific staff!

Contacted restaurant and spoke with John (owner/host) who was friendly, informative, and a real nice guy. My wife and I entered the restaurant for dinner and were seated when John came over and introduced himself. John mentioned all fish dishes were wild caught not farm raised (a plus). A large loaf of garlic bread was brought to the table and it was delicious. You could taste the garlic (amazing). My wife ordered the twin lobster tails (each one 8oz) and I had broiled scallops and shrimp. Lobster tails were thick so when you cut and ate them you could taste the lobster. Some restaurants I've been to the tails were small and thin, not here,very tasty. My scallops and shrimp were very tasty as well. Both dishes came with potato and peas. John had come out a second time to show us the seasoning he was putting on the fish since we requested no butter (what other establishment would do this?) Salads were standard with many choices of salad dressing.. We also had the fried shrimp with John's homemade tartar sauce. I must tell you the shrimp were huge/butterflied and the tartar sauce was phenominal. I would purchase this in a heartbeat. It was so tasty I was dipping my garlic bread in the sauce. You get what you pay for at JP's. Quality, quantity and an overall great experience. Highly recommend.

First time going to JP's The food is just phenomenal The crab meat is the best I've ever had. The food is a must everything great. I highly recommend this establishment. Service is very good very hospitable. Best of all when the whole island is jammed JP's is the place to be. The view from outside is beautiful. You can see Orchard beach from the out door seating. Beautiful views.

Great little fine went with a regular who's friends with the owner (John), so it was a great time had by all solid strong cocktails and amazing portions of food.......my girl friend and I shared the I believe the Sonny's Combo for two that consisted of broiled lobster tails, stuffed clams, shrimp scampi, scallops and flounder (sorry distracting convo and liquor got me not having a pic of the platter 😕😔). Sonny's Broiled Combo For 2 Shrimps, flounder, scallops, baked clams, and 2 large lobster tails served with a potato (for me) and rice (for my girl) 2 salads and peas (which the menu as a whole could do without). I will definitely be going back and get pics of my food 😃. Sidenote: Even on a rainy day the views were sweet.

It was great, the food is amazing. You get your money worth. They serve big plates which basically if your very hungry you will be full. Juicy and overall tasty. The staff is very friendly and really nice and helpful. The owner is such a nice man and very welcoming and friendly. Definitely recommend thank you guys for your great service.

As we were looking for nearby places to eat we happened across this gem on google. Right on the water so I know the views of the waves during the daytime would be amazing. We had no idea what to get because everything sounded amazing. But when we did get our food, just WOW! The portions are huge and well worth the trip. The owner was nice and they had plenty of seats for large and small parties. I would definitely go back again.
