Heard about this place recently & wanted to come check it out. If you like carrot cake then look no further then Lloyd's Carrot Cake.
Scott the young man behind the counter hooked me up with a free slice of cake since it was my first time here. I appreciated that very much.
The carrot cake truly lives up to the hype. They started in the 70's & although the original owners have passed away, their kids continue the family business.
Grab a slice & sit down across the street in the beautiful Van Cortlandt Park & enjoy the cake & views.
I ordered food next door at Tortoise & Hare and got Lloyd's Carrot Cake for dessert.
The carrot cake was SO GOOD. I liked that there weren't any nuts or raisins in this one. Very moist cake and yummy, not overly sweet cream cheese frosting. Wish it tasted more like cream cheese but I also am a cream cheese fanatic! I just saw on Google Maps that they have a Manhattan location, too! I can't wait to go there and try their Red Velvet (my fave kind of cake) and see what other desserts they have 🤗

Honestly, I usually buy Lloyd’s carrot cakes or red velvet cakes for a holiday, a big family gathering! This is also when I am so stuffed that I can enjoy it…
Yet this week I was passing by, so how could I not stop in???
I picked up a small carrot cake with raisins and walnuts.
Then I had to invite family over!
It is- just as always fantastic!
It was our only dessert for the six of us, and there were still some left over!
Eating the carrot cake is love at first bite!
The carrot cake and the carrot muffins are so delicious, you will surely go back for more.
They have two versions of the carrot cake, one with walnuts and raisins, and one without. I gobbled up the cake so fast I did not get a picture of it.
Lloyd's Carrot Cake Bakery is an iconic landmark located on Broadway in the Riverdale section of the Bronx.
The bakery has been in business for more than three decades.
You will usually see a lot of people going in and out of the bakery because it is a popular place.
Entering the bakery you will be greeted by friendly staff and a pleasant orange and white theme.
Across the street there is Van Cortlandt park, a nice place to relax and enjoy your carrot cake.
Lloyd's Carrot Cake Bakery really is "Bakers Of The World's Finest Carrot Cake" as it says on the bag.
If you have never been there before I really recommend you go.
Fresh & delicious. Have been there twice now and it tasted better today. We had the carrot cake with nuts and raisins. It was iced right in front of us and was still warm. Also tried the chocolate cupcakes. Delicious and so fresh! You really need to try their cakes. Worth the trip.
I don't even like carrot cake, but I will come here specifically for this carrot cake. How it stays so moist, I don't even want to think about, but lord is this a dessert from the heavens. It was delicious when I was there in high school and it's just as delicious going back as an adult. Bless you, Lloyd's carrot cake.
EDIT: had to remove a star as the service at their Manhattan location is not appreciated. The man working the counter had a bad attitude and made the experience there unpleasant. Cake is great, but the poor service will stop me from going back for a while
I love carrot cake since I was a kid and this place by far has the best carrot cake I have ever tasted…
The perfect carrot cake. I appreciate that the individual slices are a generous but not gluttonous size. Love the +nuts and raisins version for the added textures but would never turn down the one without. Can’t wait to try the other cakes 🤤
I've only had pleasant experiences with the staff at this place and the carrot cake is so good it's hard to have carrot cake from anywhere else. They are the elite when it comes to carrot cakes.
I have never been to Lloyd’s until today, and let’s just say…I WILL BE BACK!!!
The cake is super moist and not too sweet, it is just perfect. You can taste the love and care that went into making it. The prices are super reasonable and the staff is as sweet as the desserts. I would recommend to anyone and everyone!
