Lloyd's Carrot Cake Shop

Heard about this place recently & wanted to come check it out. If you like carrot cake then look no further then Lloyd's Carrot Cake. Scott the young man behind the counter hooked me up with a free slice of cake since it was my first time here. I appreciated that very much. The carrot cake truly lives up to the hype. They started in the 70's & although the original owners have passed away, their kids continue the family business. Grab a slice & sit down across the street in the beautiful Van Cortlandt Park & enjoy the cake & views.

I have never been to Lloyd’s until today, and let’s just say…I WILL BE BACK!!! The cake is super moist and not too sweet, it is just perfect. You can taste the love and care that went into making it. The prices are super reasonable and the staff is as sweet as the desserts. I would recommend to anyone and everyone!

We stopped on way to a party on Sunday. The place was packed which is a good sign. We ordered the carrot cake with nuts and raisins. The cake was great, unfortunately, they mixed up our order and didn’t get the nuts and raisins. Still good and will go back. Would have been 5 stars if not for the order mix up. I suggest you order ahead.

I ordered food next door at Tortoise & Hare and got Lloyd's Carrot Cake for dessert. The carrot cake was SO GOOD. I liked that there weren't any nuts or raisins in this one. Very moist cake and yummy, not overly sweet cream cheese frosting. Wish it tasted more like cream cheese but I also am a cream cheese fanatic! I just saw on Google Maps that they have a Manhattan location, too! I can't wait to go there and try their Red Velvet (my fave kind of cake) and see what other desserts they have 🤗

None better! Honestly, I usually buy Lloyd’s carrot cakes or red velvet cakes for a holiday, a big family gathering! This is also when I am so stuffed that I can enjoy it… Yet this week I was passing by, so how could I not stop in??? I picked up a small carrot cake with raisins and walnuts. Then I had to invite family over! It is- just as always fantastic! It was our only dessert for the six of us, and there were still some left over!

I don't even like carrot cake, but I will come here specifically for this carrot cake. How it stays so moist, I don't even want to think about, but lord is this a dessert from the heavens. It was delicious when I was there in high school and it's just as delicious going back as an adult. Bless you, Lloyd's carrot cake. EDIT: had to remove a star as the service at their Manhattan location is not appreciated. The man working the counter had a bad attitude and made the experience there unpleasant. Cake is great, but the poor service will stop me from going back for a while
