Love this place.
I've come here multiple times already and i am always happy with the quality of the seafood. It's always fresh and tasty.
I always buy oysters from here. The gentleman inside will open them up for you with no problem. I normally take them to go which i like better. Out of the dozen i get, there's always two or three with pieces of shell inside. So i take my time ensuring there's none before i eat it. But they are so tasty.
Although it's wintertime, the outdoor bar is still there where you can add hot sauce, cocktail sauce and others to your oysyers if you wish to eat them on the spot. They serve them with big wedges of lemon as well. Love that.
Overall i really love this place. It's really clean. Everyone inside is so friendly. They have a variety of fresh items. The prices are good. I will continue to visit.
For holidays we always make a traditional fish soup (halaszle) in Hungary. The only fish we use in it is the carp and catfish, both very important ingredients for richness and to get the flavor.
This is the only store where I got this beautiful piece, they also clean and cut it in slices, to get ready for cooking. I choose on the ice, the cold fresh oysters!
This place has so many different kinds of fish! We knew we were coming here and we brought a small cooler bag to transport the fish home. We got a whole small dorado, couple of whole squids, and sardines. We love to cook fish and we can’t wait to make them! The outdoor oyster bar also looked really good. We will probably try it next time:-) if you coming to buy fish I recommend to bring a small cooler, especially on a warm day:-)
I wasn’t thinking of seafood since it’s 8am and I came here for coffee and pastry. I passed by and just walked in and saw the seafood, I had to try. They are so fresh and so good that I have to have another plate. What a way to start off breakfast 😀
Fresh seafood selection , stopped by to try oysters and Rafael was very nice and gave great tips on how to eat oysters for a beginner like me, great service from him would def be back.
Today I became a fan of the raw oyster bar. I have walked past it many time before and never thought to try. They have such a large variety and work quickly to get them prepared. No so bad pricing for fresh oysters.
Had some great east coast and west coast oysters on the sidewalk, super fresh, super tasty and not expensive at all
This fish market is like nothing else in New York. Everything is fresh fresh fresh. Lots of great prices. Oysters are great. And you can actually buy the types of fish that are impossible to find anyplace else. Pompano -Durado - sea bass large sardines.
I go with my babe and we have oysters and clams on a half shell. Soooo fresh and clean tasting!!
