Friendly, efficient counter service. Most people do takeout and sometimes they do run out of certain fillings. I always get the boneless chicken curry which is delicious. My husband is a vegetarian and he thinks this is one of the most filling veggie meals out there. A word of warning - the hot pepper sauce is pure heat - I usually get only one or two shakes!

I visited one night while I was in town for work. It was about 30 minutes before closing time and upon trying to pay for my food my card wouldn't work. After running it twice, the gentleman said "Oh, this is an American Express. We don't accept Amex." I asked them to hold on while I went to look for cash in my car, which as it turns out I did not have. I went back in to let them know that by time I would get back to my hotel (which was 20 minutes away) to get another payment method it would be nearly closing time. I told them I was sorry that they would end up having to toss the food and then they told me not to worry, just take it. They said it was on the house! That was so incredibly kind, they didn't have to give it to me but they did. I was very appreciative.
If I ever find myself back in Boston, I would definitely come back here and also pay it forward. 💞
I have been eating at Ali's Roti for years. This is the best and authentic West Indian food found outside of the Caribbean. I highly recommend Ali's Roti for an excellent healthy home cooked meal. The staff and food remind me of my favorite food stall in Oistins, Barbados. I am very thankful that Ali's Roti is in Boston. I wish the staff a very healthy and prosperous new year.
I thought the food was bland for curry. The roti skin was good. The service was ok but could have been better. The interior needs a face-lift

I ordered the goat meal for carry-out and it was amazing. Flavorful yellow curry, great green beans and cabbage. It stained my finger nails yellow lol. Will definitely return if I visit Mattapan again.
Best Caribbean food in Boston! I love this place so much. Their food is delicious, their portions are generous, and their service is always friendly. Stop by and show some love. You will not be disappointed

I've been going here since I was a kid... Over 20 years. I still order the same thing. Over time all restaurants food changes. With the change of cooks etc flavors/ quality tend to fluctuate. Ali's food isn't exactly what it was years ago BUT not significantly different. Still delicious and the most consistent compared to other restaurants from childhood that are still around. Service is subpar which is honestly also consistent.
Excellent food. Stew chicken roti is out of this world.
