A low key atmosphere. Great whiskey selection. Chefs rotate every 6 months and the food has always been outstanding. Excellent service. This is one of our favorite places. Highly recommended.

I’ve been here twice - both times were amazing with a great ambience. You really feel like you are transported to another time. The drinks are also incredible - some of my favorite of all time! One time we were there it was pretty empty - the other time we had reservations and it was packed. They were late to seat us but brought us out complimentary champagne as we waited. We didn’t go for the food, but everything we ordered was really delicious. Amazing and thoughtful service! This place is a new favorite!

Service was great—both bartender and waitress were attentive. We only got apps, but they were AMAZING. Drinks were excellent, innovative cocktails that were visually appealing. Atmosphere was cozy, quaint and the perfect place to gather with old friends.

Another place added to my favorite hidden speakeasies list in Boston. The ambience of this bar really takes you back to old days. The drinks were very creative and they change their menus every six months. We were not aware of this prior to arriving, so it was sad that we could not order the aesthetic cocktail in a humming-bird shaped cocktail glass which we found on Wink and Nod’s social media page. However, our server was very knowledgeable and gave us amazing suggestions for cocktails. One thing that went wrong during our visit was that there was a miscommunication with our server while ordering, so we did not get the food we wanted (grilled pita with dips) and the kitchen was already closed. Fortunately, the manager on duty was very professional in handling the situation by apologizing for the inconvenience and taking off one of the drinks on our bill. Overall a memorable experience !

My wife and I were there on a date night, and we had a great time. The atmosphere is great, super comfortable and amazing service. The drinks were perfectly prepared, just like the food. I definitely recommend it for couples looking for a nice place for dinner and drinks.

Wink and Nod is an underground cocktail bar located in the heart of Chinatown in Boston. The highlight of this place is undoubtedly the cocktails I recommend trying the Tea Party cocktail. It's a delicious blend of tea-infused gin, lemon, and honey that's perfect for sipping on a night out. Another drink I would recommend for whiskey lovers is the Ace of Spaces, also known as the black card cocktail. It's a highly aromatic and complex concoction. That said, the service was a bit slow, which could be frustrating if you're in a rush or trying to catch a show or movie after. Additionally, the ventilation in the bar area might not be great, as you can smell the aroma of Chinese food quite strongly. This can be a bit off-putting for some patrons. Overall, if you're looking for a unique and intimate spot to enjoy a well-crafted cocktail, Wink and Nod is worth a visit. Just be prepared to wait a bit for your drinks and perhaps breathe in some of the local cuisine's scents.

Sweet spot with helpful staff, an upscale atmosphere & gives off speakeasy vibes. Great whiskey menu but that’s not really my thing. They have something called a MacMillan tasting menu - it’s essentially or different whiskey, drinks ages give me the full breadth of experience I would defs come back

Cocktails are overtheatrical and overpriced. Not worth the time and money but different and good. Service was the slowest I've ever gotten at a bar. We waited around 20 minutes for each drink. Atmosphere is a very classy speakeasy.

This place is a bigger speakeasy vibe like place to go to. We got seated at a table by the bar where the people were super loud and the host was super kind and ended up moving us to a table away from the bar. This made our experience way better as it gave us more of an intimate setting to enjoy our cocktails. As far as cocktails are concerned, we tried the Phoenix, tea party, and the Pal O’ Mine. Our favorite by leaps and bounds was the Tea Party. It was perfectly concocted and very smooth. I could’ve had 5 of these easily. The Phoenix tastes like a pisco sour and I did not taste my friend’s Pal O’ Mine. I would recommend the drinks here and would come back for another Tea Party cocktail!

Got some cocktails and food here on a late weekday night, and sat at the bar. The bartenders were really helpful in suggesting which cocktails to get, and it was all really fun and tasty. The cocktails ranged from $15-$18 I believe. Tea party: my all-time favorite cocktail. It's sweet but not too sweet, and undoubtedly earl grey flavored. Put a spell on you: sweet/sour that is very absinthe forward and with a nice subtle pineapple flavor at the end Pheonix: like a pisco sour Tequila jam swizzle: like a margarita, but also has orange cranberry jam that has its fruit pieces in the drink The food from SubRosa was pretty good and made well, but not really worth the price for me personally. Pupusa: a pupusa with tiny zucchini chunks and melty cheese inside. The mushrooms are on the side. It's well made but I was expecting more than one for $16. Crudo: raw scallops that are really buttery and sweet and tender. It's in a tomato based, slightly acidic from the yuzu, slightly sweet from the honey, with some sesame and herbs. 6 scallops for $22, but the cape cod bay scallops are usually on the more pricey side. Worth getting if price is not a concern! Overall, I had a good time. Would come back again for the cocktails, and am also looking forward to their new future cocktail innovations. They have new chefs and menus for food every 6 months, so that definitely keeps things interesting.
