Omg I ordered the Jerk Chicken pasta and Shrimp dinner with macaroni and cheese, and sweet potatoes. Don’t judge me I’m a legit foodie and Chef. My mother ordered the Catfish Steak dinner with green beans, and macaroni and cheese. For dessert we both had the peach cobbler, and i also had a banana pudding. When I say the Jerk pasta was amazing so spicy and creamy. It was the perfect sauce to noodle ratio. The Chef put so much love in that dish. The pasta was so good I couldn’t stop eating the pasta and didn’t even eat the chicken on top. My mother said the fish was the best she had in a long time. She said the fish was fresh , and as well as the Shrimp. The dessert was amazing. Is somebodies Big Ma in the kitchen cooking? The food was worth every penny and I will be back the best $80 I ever spent on food, drinks, and dessert. Five stars I would give 6 if I could. As a chef and caterer your business was on point with flavors, and presentation, and technique. I love to support my fellow black businesses. You have a forever customer and it’s hard to find good soul food in the suburbs.

First time going & will return again the food was excellent. They give you a nice amount of food, the food is hot. If you’re getting the fried chicken, you gonna have to wait a while but it is worth the wait. The chicken is excellent. The smothered pork chops are excellent & all the sides the macaroni, sweet potatoes greens everything was wonderful, I pulled it up on the phone to find out, where the closest soul food restaurant to us a couple of soul food restaurants came up & I read the reviews & we chose this one it took us 40 minutes to get there, but it was worth the trip A+ 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

Oh my God this is the best place in the Chicago area for fried chicken! I'll always come here whenever I'm in the Bollingbrook area. The next time I'm ordering enough to have 2 whole fried chickens saved for later!
Visiting here made me pine for the African American culture and hospitality I loved when I lived in the DC area. An A plus restaurant that is my new favorite.

This was my first time ever having soul food. When I walked in I asked for help with the menu and what they had. The front reception women was extremely nice and sweet and friendly to me and my friend. She helped us with the menu and was very knowledgeable! I’ve never had ox tail before and it was AMAZING! All the food I ate made me feel happy and you can tell was made to bring people together and bring joy and a full belly to the table. I will most definitely be going back and bringing other family and friends. Not to mention the peach cobbler is to dieee for!!
I now understand why soul food is called soul food. It feeds the soul, brings a smile on a bad day, and just brings the happiness out of a person. Not to mention the next day when I reheated my left overs, it tasted just like the first bite all over again!! Cooked to perfection! Super sweet staff members. Fast service!

First time visit 11/5/2023, was very impressed with the food. Had the smothered pork chops with dressing and yams. Just a little salty, but that's preference since I don't normally cook with salt anymore. A long line but the wait wasn't unbearable. Will visit again for sure.

We truly enjoy the Mandy’s Soulfood kitchen next door to our neighboring town. The food feels like a good Sunday after church at your Grandparents house, truly enjoyable and priced reasonably.
The issue that didn’t sit well when we last visited was the encounter w/ the cashier lady (Short Red Hair and a maybe an issue w/ one of her eyes (Sorry)).
Any regards, while taken our order last visit, we had enough to pay cash w/ out using our credit and debit cards and the dollar singles change was needed from that purchase for baby relatives awaiting in the vehicle, we needed the singles from the bill that we were using to pay for dinner that night at Mandy’s.
When I decided to place my coin change into the tip jar, the cashier lady highly offended me, the weekly customer w/ a response of “Gee, Thanks”.
Very condescending, rude and please stay off your phone, especially on speaker when customers are present. This is a business, not your living room. I digress.
For that, we don’t even go there when we drive through and notice she is working the counter. We find her to be off putting in many ways as the front of the house face.
It truly took us a few to share this incident, but thought we would share.
We did ask the very pleasant young Hispanic lady when “Mandy” would be in next and she informed us that the owner drops in when needed and she couldn’t release her personal contact information. Well, here you go. Do with it as you please. God bless.

A couple of weeks ago it was a family member Birthday. None of us had ever been to Mandy's and we had heard and read so many good reviews on how good the food is. There was (12) of us, I called ahead to see if they could accommodate us with one table with accomodation for a wheelchair. I tell you Mandy had our table all set up for us and even made exceptions for our ordering process. Now a few other family members and myself are from MS, so we know good down home southern soul food. We had a total of (14) different dinners, and not one complaint, evey dinner was a hit. We really enjoyed the atmosphere, the service, and most of all the delicious food. We are calling Mandy's our top family gathering spot, we hit the jackpot with this one. Mandy's thank you very much for the great accommodations and some of the very BEST soul food around. Family can't stop talking about Mandy's. We will see you again and very soon.

My co worker asked me where I wanted to go. I told him I wanted to try some soul food. He was down, cool. We drove to Mandy's. First impressions, good, in a modern area, well lit and right away gives you menu options posted. They have specials per day. We went on a Thursday so smothered chicken was my choice and co worker got the pork chops. Waited a few minutes, names called and got our food. My work buddy got meatloaf, he went back and they corrected it by just giving the chops so a "free meatloaf). All was very, very GOOD. Great servings. We went to a BBQ place the other day and paid more for less, we were not full. Today, STUFF. The sides, I got the dressing, we both got collards. I got the peach cobbler too. Again, everything was on point. Friendly atmosphere and great food. I felt comfortable(after being in a very white establishment I needed this. I'm not from the area(born in Milwaukee, living in Phoenix, so this was a work trip). I highly recommend returning and coming for all their menu items. Mandy's, thanks!
