The restaurant theme, food and atmosphere all work together toward an enjoyable experience. The service was satisfactory.
FOOD: Excellent. Five stars. The fish tacos and the El Diablo Pastor were quite delectable. Servings were on the small side, so get extras or appetizers if you're coming in famished. Their Old Fashioned is pretty standard, but go without simple syrup and it's downright delectable. It has the right spice to accompany the El Diablo Pastor.
ATMOSPHERE: Five stars. I mention this separate from the theme because the music was barely noticeable-- just enough to wash out the background noise. The servers and staff were great. My water stayed full, our food was prompt and they were quite cordial.
THE REASON: I don't give it a perfect score is that the overall price is a bit steep for the portion sizes. While the food is totally worth it in terms of quality and flavor, the prices are a little steep if you want more than a few tacos (see pictures). Go during happy hour where it's $3/taco and it's five star easily.
The trout! One of the best dishes I had lately! Never ate anything like that. Everything about their recipe is amazing. Definitely coming back for that trout in the future. The ambient is also a plus. The beer selection is really good. The Hefeweizen was delicious.
This was my second time visiting Diablo & Sons Saloon. Other than there being no onion rings available, this was an excellent visit. The service was prompt and friendly. All of the food was well prepared and tasted great and the drinks were delicious. The tacos were well presented and quite tasty.
I am tickled to share my experience at Diablo & Sons in downtown Boise. Great location and I tried the ribeye steak. The photo shows it looked great and I was very pleased it was cooked perfectly to my instruction of medium-rare. It had a great grilled taste with excellent seasoning, not too much! The dessert was just YUMMY! Their tacos are great, but I am pleased to say their ribeye was excellent too! The hostess & our waiter were very friendly & accommodating.
Nice outdoor seating. Really cool atmosphere. Great fried oysters and the tacos were amazing. Good selection of beers on tap.
