Should start by saying I adore this restaurant, and the proprietors are very gracious. Lovely experience overall. Noodle dishes were pretty darn good, curry good, "spicy" beef salad was ok. But, spring rolls, tom yum, and calamari all shared a distinct absence of any particular taste at all... perplexing. Like the Feb. 2014 reviewer, the vegetables in dishes that featured them were highly concentrated in the broccoli and zucchini realm. I nearly always try a new Thai spot when on the road, and drove ten miles to try this one. I'd do it again because it is charming, but I'm crossing my fingers they discover the important flavors in a calamari breading, some lemon and perhaps something that's not brown in the tom yum soup (neither hot nor sour). something that tastes more savory than bean threads to add to spring rolls for a fresh sensation perhaps. I'm no Thai chef, but these flavors seem to be ubiquitous in this regional cooking and were not found in at least a few of the items on this menu. Hoping for and wishing for, the best for this excellent place.
Best Thai restaraunt on Long Island and I've tried a lot of them. Fresh ingredients, great portions, and not greasy/unhealthy. The husband and wife owners do a fantastic job.
Good food. Nice and warm service. Very happy to find this place. Don't judge by the appearance. Food is excellent.
Coming in on a wave of Curry. Appears Thongpang Chang and his wife.
WOW. For a while, the best Thai spot out here was close to Pt. Jeff on 347, and while you always love your first, Chang's quickly assumed a position of primacy.
First off, the curries are all fully loaded, and if you can handle the meals the way Thais like them, they can ramp them up a further notch and you will be eating really authentic scorchingly tasty food. My favorite is the peanut curry, which is perfectly balanced and not over bearing where you can't taste all the other ingredients for the peanut.
It's clear that Chang and Janet have hit their stride and offer tremendous plates with a humble pride which can only be described as 'buddhist'. I've had pretty much everything on the menu and there isn't a dish I can say to avoid, from the fresh paper thin translucent basil rolls which still in some way offer a toothy resistance, to the usual satay, to the epic pad thai or the amazing rama- chicken or beef in a peanut curry decked out on a bed of lightly steamed broccoli.
And what is a meal without Singha, or a Thai Iced tea or Iced Coffee. Just to show how much care Chang takes for his diners, he doesn't serve tap water for table water or cook with it, but goes and gets jugs of spring water.
It's this kind of care and love for food which wins me over and why I even carry a few of the place's business cards with me as people are always asking me where to eat.
Yummy Vegetable Curry. I have been going to this place for a few years now, and have never left dissatisfied. The owners are positively amazing - always so kind and friendly, and the food is great for the price. No frills and quite tasty - I like it!
Update: Chicken/Shrimp Dumplings, Peanut Curry and Coconut Ice Cream - all highly recommended!
Casual Thai - a local favorite. A lot of the people in my area love this Thai restaurant the best. It sits on Montauk Highway and is easy to miss, but if you find yourself nearby this is a good place to check out. Its very low-key, perfect for a quick, casual meal or take-out.
The best Thai food I've ever had!!! Great vegan options, outstanding service. My husband & I absolutely love this place. We had our family & friends try as well & got them hooked.
This is restaurant is take out only. It was delicious! Highly recommend. We will be back.
This is the best tasting Thai food hands down. I live within close proximity to 3 Thai restaurants, but after having tried each one, I'd much rather drive the 1/2 hour to Thong Pan Chang. The taste is off the charts and the portions are huge. I recommend the Satays, Curry Puffs, and Spring Rolls. My favorite entrees are the Peanut Curry with Beef and also the Beef with Garlic Black Pepper sauce. I'm not a seafood eater so can't comment on any. Also the Fried Bananas with honey for dessert are divine.
ALWAYS IMPECCABLE and DELICIOUS authentic cuisine!! I have been going here for many years and it is a sincere honor to have such an incredible establishment nearby and to be able to enjoy authentic wonderful Thai cuisine. Never ever disappoints. (I have yet to experience another Thai restaurant that comes even close) Very clean..ALWAYS has been. Wonderful owners whom I just ADORE! A MUST TRY and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND
Good place for Thai food. Usually I don't care for Asian food on Long Island but this place has tasty food. 🙂
I'm not sure about the bad reviews been going there for years, food always fresh and very tasty we will continue to go.
We will be back! Best Thai food out of Thailand. We travel about 30 miles to get to this inconspicuous eatery, to get the most succulent Thai we have tried in our culinary adventures.
The service is incredible. The owner always remembers the last meal we had, even if he has not seen us for a month!
My Husband & I have been going there for over 10 years. We have never been disappointed. I love the chicken mango curry & spring rolls. The owners are a lovely couple who always remembers us & our children. 💕 They remain our Thai Favorite.💕
Warm, friendly service. The owners were very attentive to our needs, always giving us water, extra spices, etc. Good food, very tasty and cooked healthy. I had red curry beef, she my wife had pad Thai. Not oily at all. A bit expensive, but the warm friendly service and great tasting food up for it. Looking forward to eating there again.
The best Thai food I have ever had! Everything is always fresh and delicious. The owners are so sweet.
I wish they would sign up with Uber Eats.
