Aveda has closed my account with only a few points to the max tier level. I called customer service and shared my previous purchases that-mysteriously--no points were accumulated. Still no follow up and still no account restored to previous status. Was told my account was closed due to inactivity--however--I had made a few purchases. BAD BUSINESS--especially since I'd been collecting points for almost 2 decades.

Wanted to pick up a gift set that I saw online. Unfortunately, the day I went to the store, I found it was out of stock at the Aveda retail location in Blaine. Thankfully the individual items were in stock. I asked an associate if we could piece it together and was told yes, but I would have to pay full price for each item since the gift sets are specially packaged. I asked if there was anyway the package pricing could be applied and was told no, but if you just come back next week we'll probably have it. Due to when the gift was needed, I opted to pay full price but found the lack of customer service disappointing.

The retail store is world class! I look like a lumberjack, yet the beautiful people that staff the Aveda retail store take me seriously the instant I walk in the door. I am greeted in a cheerful manner, offered a tea and politely asked how I may be assisted. At times, I am offered a small treatment and sampling of a new product. And the sincerity of the staff is very genuine; every attempt is made to fully explore your needs to select the prefect product for your concerns. I could write on and on about the effectiveness of Aveda products (wow), however this review is focusing on the customer service of the retail store. They achieve an easy 5-star review for their commitment to a word class customer experience. A word to summarize? Pampered. And that is a rare thing for a lumberjack.

Love their products but they NEVER answer their phone or return calls if you leave a message. It's really frustrating. I placed an order over a week ago after calling for several days in a row and leaving two messages and they didn't send the order. I then called every day this week (since Saturday) and was unable to get anyone to pick up the phone or call me back.
