I have visited the Tea Shoppe numerous times in the last two years. I never have met a more delightful pair of ladies than Darlene and Rebecca. The service I would describe as what it must be like to have a pair of Aunts who have been eagerly waiting months for your visit. Attentive and delightful, but without the tendency to be overbearing.
The food. Some guys may be scared away from the association of "a tea shop" with their manliness. Good. More food for me. You might not get chicken wings and burritos, but you will get some of the best chicken salad (two kinds) and pimento cheese that has ever graced this state. Then there are the specials. Just say, "yes".
The inside is clean. I mean ridiculously clean. Don't go in expecting country music and sports memorabilia. It's not that kind of place. It's a classic, classy kind of place. They also serve tea, with or without the fancy, fussy tea service. You can choose from a million teas. Or you can have the tea equivalent of black coffee, "Earl Grey, hot." They also have delicious treats with fancy names and pedigrees. There's not a test, though. You can just eat them, if you want. You can even use my code phrase, "I'd like a scone, please. Just surprise me."
I have never been more amazed! I picked out this location for a friend who wanted to have a bachelorette tea party. I simply typed where to have a tea party into google and this was the first location that came up. Google was right placing them first! I could not dream up a more fantastic place for a tea party. I immediately called to ask questions and talked with a wonderful person over the phone for probably 45 minutes. She was so sweet and understanding. From past experiences at other tea shops I was expecting the workers to be quite snoody, but this was not the case...AT ALL!!!
I called back a couple of days later to schedule a table. At that time there were no availabilities, but when I explained that it was very important they said they would be able to accommodate our group.
My favorite part of my experience was when I called to ask a question of behalf of one of the bridesmaids. She was experiencing money problems and I called to ask if there was any way she would be able to come spend time with the bridal party, but not eat. They completely understood her financial status and welcomed her to come anyway. When we got there one woman felt so bad that she would have to sit and watch everyone else eat that she brought out a spare scone! She was so sweet and compassionate I nearly cried!
When we arrived the table was so beautiful and the entire setting was just incredible. Being college students we were so in awe we took pictures of everything from the live flowers on each table to the beautiful place settings. The food was so appetizing and my friend from England said the scones were just like the ones back home. They have ruined all other scones for me... now no other scone can taste as good! The variety of the three-tier plater was perfect and very filling.
The entire package of this experience was incredibly amazing and the price was even better. I cannot believe how fantastic this location is and I will recommend it to EVERYONE!!! Not only is the setting wonderful, the people who work there are even better and made the experience so special. Thank you to every one at TownHouse Tea Shoppe!
And to the person who ranked TownHouse Tea Shoppe Poor to fair, I'm sure there is more to the story because every aspect of that long ranting paragraph is untrue to my experience.
The ladies over at Townhouse Tea Shoppe are incredibly genuine, just like the food and beverages they offer! Today my partner and I had quiche, loaded potato soup, scones and a menagerie of fine desserts! I know where I will be having lunch at least once a week! Thanks, Townhouse!
