Berkley Common

Berkley Common is a great spot to grab a quick drink with friends or a bite to eat -- I'd say it's under-appreciated, and on some level I kind of want to keep it as a hidden gem in the area! I've been to Berkeley Common a couple of times over the years and it's always a chill spot to meet up and have a good conversation. Their cocktail lineup always has some interesting options, and I appreciate that they have some unique food options too! I've tried a few different cocktails and haven't gone wrong yet, I'd definitely recommend trying out a few and seeing what piques your interest most. The food portions can be massive too, I got the sweet potato fries and the bowl was enough for a full dinner course in and of itself. Overall, if you live in Royal Oak/ Berkley and haven't tried out Berkeley Common... I think you need to!

Came in to meet some friends, was pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere and liqueur selection. I have a feeling that they make some mean amaro cocktails. I was being thrifty and ordered a whiskey sour off the generous happy hour menu. It was a proper whiskey sour (with egg white), not made with a nasty premixed bottle. I'm looking forward to going back when I can afford a few craft cocktails!
