The Lunch Cafe

Long overdue review as I have been frequenting this place for a few years now, but it's my absolute favorite. I work close by so it's easy for me to call in a carryout lunch order for myself and/or coworkers and go pick up. The food is simple but is homemade and you can tell they really care about the quality of what they serve. Even on their busiest days, they are efficient and provide friendly service. My favorites are the fruited chicken salad wrap and chef salad, and their soups are all great too! The prices are also VERY reasonable, if not on the cheap side, which is appreciated with how expensive everything is lately. Thanks TLC :)

In the past, I've had nothing but pleasant experiences here, and good food. This time was really just subpar. The food was pretty good, but took forever to get a salad. The staff seemed to be too busy to really be as personable and timely as they've been in the past. One staff member in particular was just this side of rude, but I saw no point in creating a fuss. In these times, perhaps being overworked and under staffed plays into it? Perhaps it was the time of day.

Stopped in The Lunch Cafe after looking at reviews. Likes that the owner actually responds to customers. Got there for a early lunch Order half a Michigan Salad and Chili [ Monday Special] Lady who took my order was very friendly. Food arrived in a few minutes. Salad obviously was freshly prepared as the lettuce was actually from a head of lettuce and not a bag. Chili was steaming hot. Salad was delicious with fresh ingredients and a delicious dressing. Chili was full of flavor with the perfect spice level. Was nice seeing the staff talking with customers about their Morning.Will be back to visit in the future.

Got 3 veggies options: the veggies panini grill, jalapeño poppers, and caprese. Panini grill was great, not spicy but the side of Sriracha mayo helped. Jalapeno poppers were alright, just a cheesy sandwich with jalapeños. Caprese was really good, house vinegarette was delicious. Lots of cool and funny signs inside and friendly service!
