Hot Wired

Gary's Sling Blade Dairy Bar has been made famous by the movie Sling Blade staring Billy Bob Thornton and Dwight Yoakam which debut November 27th 1996. Today's experience was that that you would expect on your local hometown Dairy Bar. The food was hot and fresh the drinks were cold and mixed just right. Takes you back to that Old Town hometown goodness of a wonderful local Dairy Bar. I see now why it was such important addition to the movie. The ice cream is second to none and you must stop in and try fresh made Sundae or a milkshake or malt. (Be sure to place a large order french fried taters with a side of mustard.)

La Roccia pizza was pretty good. Lots of cheese, big chunks of chicken, and topped with bacon. It came out looking delicious. It was $14.99 for a large. I also had a Strawberry malt. It has real chunks of chopped strawberries. I would recommend Garry's Slingblade.

Absolutely love this place!!! Old time feel with wonderful food!!!! Not your typical drive through!! Food tastes more homemade with Real ingredients!!! Shakes and malts are to die for and I normally don't like malts!! You get plenty of food for your money!! Also the Bourbon pecan pie is delicious 😋

Fun little local place in town. Didn’t realize some scenes from the movie was filmed here. Good affordable meal.

A very good burger served with a choice of potato--get the sindwinder fries. Since you're going, also get the smokey flavored baked beans and afoated ice cream. Then, leave a good tip for the staff; you'll see why they deserve it.

Good food and ice cream! My only complaint is that there is a lot of flys. And their should be more inside seating. But overall it’s a very good restaurant.
