Great Happy Hour. I work across the street and I frequent Portello often after long-hard days at the office. On Monday's they have a $5 any glass night, so it's usually busy by 5:30 (so get their early, but don't take my table). Don't worry if you're not a wino, they have Stella's for $3 during Happy Hour T-F 4-6pm.
The staff is my favorite part. They always remember my order and are always on top of things. If I had to rate all the happy hours in Bend, Portello would probably win, hands down.
Perfect birthday lunch! Ravioli special with porcini and truffle ravioli, prosciutto, arugula, zucchini in truffle butter - so tasty, rich but not overly so and fairly light overall. The man had the tuna salad which was good as well but maybe a bit dry and the veggies could be smaller but it was still a very good dish! Discounted wine at lunch is an excellent value. Very happy!
Came in Tuesday night 10/18 and sat at the bar. I love this place! Great wine list & atmosphere. The tomato basil soup is so good!! will be back.
Great cozy place to enjoy a large selection of wines and some tasty meal options. The happy hour appetizers are a great deal. No whiskey as of Jan 2022, but they said they were working on it. But plenty of wine and beer options. Traditional seating along with more intimate couches and chairs.
Monday is $5/glass wine list! Excellent offerings for happy hour menu, dinner. They have gluten free options. Staff knowledgable regarding wines.
Portello *might be* my favorite cafe in Bend. Their happy hour is wonderful and SO affordable, especially considering the quality of their offerings, and frankly, their prices outside of happy hour are unbeatable too. For a wine bar, they also have a pretty strong tap list. The food is uncomplicated, but artful and TASTY. The space is so intimate inside and out-- the vibe is very relaxed-metropolitan which is extra fun in central Oregon. Portello is offering what quite literally no other restaurant in Bend has. I love!
This is probably my favorite wine bar in Bend. The atmosphere is awesome and the wine selection by the glass is extensive. Monday nights offer discounted wines by the glass. The bruchetta and the sandwiches selections are yummy. The atmosphere here is very eclectic and laid back. Great for people watching or just sitting at a comfy chair and table and playing backgammon.

I have visited Portello many times since they opened several years ago. They always offer a great selection of wine and frequently bring in new selections. Food is always delicious and service always impeccable. Best happy hour in Bend! Unbelievable wine for the price. They have accommodated our large group two years in a row and we plan to repeat next year.
Excellent service, delicious inventive menu items, gorgeous, wide selection of wines. We enjoyed sparkling & rose, which were both exactly what we wanted on a Saturday afternoon!
One of my favorite places in town to go for a great selection of wines from all around the globe and an excellent food menu. Affordable prices and great service!
