Ricardo's Restaurant

We used to go to this family restaurant many years ago. Overall food and service are good. They prepare the tortilla freshly at the entrance of the restaurant so they are great. Margarita are very good. On the other hand, I wish they had a guacamole option prepared at the table. Restaurant looks a bit dated

People say their service was good. My experience was the opposite of good. Our waiter was chillingly rude, short and curt. He never stopped by to check on us, never offered to get us more salsa, I had to ask him for it, then he passed our table 3 times before he brought us more. Never asked if we'd like more drinks! I mean c'mon, dining out is about the food and the experience. This guy ruined both for us. I can spend $60 dollars closer to home. I won't EVER go back to this place.

Came here with a group of 12 . The food here is disgusting. The salsa was basically tomato sauce with some onion and what seemed to be bell peppers, no heat and the chips were stale and warmed over. We asked for some hotter salsa and was brought a tomatillo sauce that had a little more heat but was watery and bland. We ordered some super nachos and the meat (if you can call it that) was mush, it couldn't even be identified as ground beef; think Taco Bell meat. I ordered Ricardo's Tacos, which the menu described as 3 corn tortillas stuffed with your choice of chicken or shredded beef and deep fried. I received a flour tortilla with chicken rolled inside cut in 3 pieces and half burnt. Last time I checked that was called a Flauta not a taco. The chicken was dry/unseasoned and served with what tasted like week old refried beans and Spanish rice. Our waiter was rude and impatient, not once did he come around and ask how every thing was or if we needed refills on our drinks. I'm from New Mexico so I know Mexican food and this wasn't it. I don't know how they have 4 stars. I would never go here again; enter at your own risk.

A solid experience, welcoming staff, and homemade style Mexican food in a casual setting. The only reason for not giving 5 stars is the decor is a bit tired, and I agree with other reviewers that the menu truly requires simplification. On our visit we had the chicken enchiladas and the chicken taquitos. Both were good, loaded with chicken meat, and of course with the American-sized portions, we couldn't finish all of it so we got a box to take home leftovers! They have a full bar and good stock of tequilas as well as mixed drinks and beer, etc. This is a good spot for families, friends, or on a Tuesday date night for sure.

Automatically added 4% FEE to each dish on the bill. The waiter will not clue you in on it hoping that you won't notice the small difference. They will only honor the menu prices if you're paying CASH. For example, the Campechana Soup is $21.95 on the menu but they gave us a bill for $22.83 WITHOUT FIRST asking if you're paying cash. There's nothing shown on the menu about the price change other than a small sheet posted at reception which anyone hardly noticed. The portions are extremely small for the prices that they charge. The Campechana Soup was delicious but came in a small cocktail glass. The other dish that we ordered also got a lot smaller. I don't see any value at all. We won't be returning any time soon.
