Akaru Sushi Asian Cuisine

Rolls were decent, the soft shell crab didn’t look appetizing so we didn’t eat it but still got charged. I understand that I ordered it but they should’ve offered us something else. No very happy Updated 8-20-18 It’s the only place near my home so I went back hoping to have a better experience. This time the sushi rice tasted very sour and they use imitation crab stick instead of a mix, it was very odd. I sent them back and they were very understanding (didn’t charge us) the pan-fried dumplings were excellent so it wasn’t a total loss. The people are very nice but I never see any traffic which should’ve been an obvious sign.

This was our first visit to this Sushi restaurant. It is located in our neighborhood. I ordered the sushi & tempura shrimp & veggies dish. It also came with a very light & delicious soup. All the food was very tasty. My husband had a beef dish which he really liked too. So we were very pleased with their food & service. Prices were a bit high but u did get alot of food for what u paid. I even had leftovers that I was able to enjoy the next day. So I got 2 meals out of it. We'll definitely be back.

I ordered only sushi, spicy tuna and salmon rolls and regular salmon rolls, and it was by far the worst sushi I've ever had. I never write bad reviews because I don't want to hurt anyone's business, but I would have really appreciated a warning not to order sushi from this place. The sushi rice was so mushy you could hardly tell one grain of rice from the next. They also put crunchy stuff in the spicy rolls, which I've never had any other place do. Who knows, maybe their cooked food is tasty, but I'd never order sushi from this place again.

We ordered a lunch special and a lunch box. The sushi and the teriyaki beef are pretty good. The prices are reasonable. We would like to go back and try the other items on the menu. The interior is pretty nicely decorated and seats less than 40, so it's not a huge place. There is an outdoor patio area that will allow for more seating. But, this is still a new place, so it's not set up yet.

I'm so glad this little sushi place opened up. I've gone twice now and enjoyed my lunch and dinner. The soup and salad you get are pretty good. The salad comes with a mustardy type dressing. Hubby didn't enjoy it much, hey more salad for me. The soup has tofu and some mushrooms if I remember correctly. Can't wait to try their bento boxes.
