I am from Japan, my extended family all own Japanese noodle restaurants in Japan. I can tell you, this food definitely is authentic and delicious and reminded me of home! They are masterful with frying, we had fried squid, fried chicken, pan-fried gyoza, it was all just about the best version of those I've eaten. Menu is varied, something for everyone.

Rare authentic Japanese beer houses. Definitely going to be a weekly to biweekly visit. They’re busy enough. There is no need to spread the word to make this place even busier.

Kakuni Ramen ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - order it medium spicy - actually spicy might be a bit too much, I don't taste the actual tonkotsu anymore Spring rolls ⭐⭐⭐⭐ - good, but only 2 rolls - loved how cheesy and flakey it was Roasted peppers ⭐⭐⭐ - not incredibly spicy - it tasted ok, but not anything to write home about - too expensive for the cost Karage ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - lemon included - crispy Gyoza ⭐⭐⭐ - nothing you'd be missing out on if you skipped - little oily and soggy - tastes good still Aburi cha shu ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - really good - sweet - loved the onions - soft and melts in your mouth Menchi Katsu ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - love the taste of crispy fried and fresh - good combination

This is the 4th time we've been here, and our experience has been amazing every time. The waitstaff is friendly and quick, the array of sake leaves you with a ton of options, and the food is obviously beautiful authentic and delicious. Want natto? Ramen? Traditional cold soba? A katsudon served piping hot? You got it, and the list goes on. Immediate recommendation, but it won't be easy to find. It's probably better that way :)

Another example of fantastic waitstaff. The food was Un. Beatable. I had syouyu(soy) broth ramen and my partner had chicken and buckwheat, both of which were super tasty. Neither of us could decide which we liked more! The waitress was sweet as pie and very quick as well as attentive, always on top of water fill ups and removing used plates. We ended up with a new favorite ramen place after his visit!

Kakuni Ramen with extra pork belly is amazing. Was introduced to this place from a friend and is more my favorite. Even though the drive is far for me, but when I'm in the area, it's a must. Pork broth is savory, ramen is fresh and cooked perfectly, and pork belly is slow braised and melts in your mouth.

Wife and I went here on a Saturday evening. There isn't a sign for it except for a neon "open" sign, so if you can't find it it's the door left of Dede's bar. Yuzu is a small cozy place, reminded me of similar restaurants in Japan. We each ordered the specialty ramen (added a soft boiled egg) and Agedashi tofu appetiser. Non-alcoholic drink options are limited, soda came in a can. The tofu was OK, deep fried swimming a sweet soy sauce made it loose any crunchiness from deep frying and made the outer layer peel off. The ramen was hit and miss. The broth and pork belly were amazing, but the noodles and addins were average. Prices and portions sizes were good, we left full with most of a ramen bowl left over for $35 plus tip. Service was friendly and we had no issues. Overall 3.5/5, will try again. Boxer ramen in pdx remains our favorite ramen around.
