Beano's Cabin

Words and pictures do not do it justice. Hands down, this was one of the most unique, delicious and smile forming dining experiences my wife and I have ever encountered. Open air snow cat ride - check Elegent, snow covered cabin nestled in the middle of the woods - check Raging real wood fire in the fireplace - check Beautifully adorned dining area - check Open, working kitchen - check Incredibly efficient, yet friendly staff (check-in at the bottom of the mountain, "guide" on the snow cat, hostess, bartender, servers, and runners) - check (shout out to Nick and Gabby - you were incredible) Best 5 course meal in the Rockies (and just about anywhere else for that matter) - check This bucketlist type experience does come at a borderline exorbitant expense, but you can almost justify it because everything is just that amazing. The only "criticism" I can give...transportation. We're staying in Vail and it's another $80-90 round trip by taxi. Ubers are not reliable. Reserving a time for pick up was tough because we did not know how long the dinner would take. We had an 8p reservation - an 11p pickup would have been perfect. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! The food here is absolutely horrible. People who have given this place a good review have either been paid or have never experienced quality food. I had the short rib. Short rib is supposed to literally fall of of the bone. Well that was not the case here. Plus when it arrived it was extremely cold. I told the waiter and she apologized and brought a new plate which was warm but still extremely tough meat. The kids ordered the kids butter paste and it had zero flavor. We are from Miami and know what quality food is and have no problem paying expensive for good food, but this place is absolutely a rip off, $165pp is absurd. I can go to Outback or Longhorn and get better food and feed my entire family for $165.

As far as I know it is only accessible only by Snowkat. The multi-course meals are of good size. I went with my kids and one ordered from the kids menu and one ordered from the adult menu. The servers are very friendly and knowledgeable and treated everyone with class (whether ordering chocolate milk or wine). Given the high price tag it is not a place I will attend regularly but instead every once in a while.

Heard alot about this place and am glad we tried it but Beano's Cabin is a one and done for us mainly due to the sled ride you need to take to get up there at night. It's about a 15 minute ride and we froze to death on the way up and back. The restaurant itself is beautiful and the food is outstanding but also be prepared to pay today dollar for the experience.

Shuttled up to cabin although open table said option of wagon ride; that needs to be corrected. Had early reservations and scored a window table. Bret and Dan our servers were friendly and attentative. Strawberry salad fried heirloom tomatoes rabbit confit wild boar and quail were all good. Soups and berry cobbler were ok. Very expensive and way too much food. Once in a lifetime experience.
