Devine Experience. The atmosphere at 18 Steak is cozy and unique, but the best parts are the service and the food. Service was excellent. The food was seriously good. First, they brought fresh bread to the table with the best, soft butter. Then we had the bbq shrimp appetizer and it was the best New Orleans style bbq shrimp with a rich, buttery Worcestershire sauce that was almost like a roux. Then we had a BLT side salad and the homemade blue cheese was excellent, and then the pork belly on top was a great touch. Next, we had our entrees which were the redfish, which was topped with crawfish because they were out of crab due to COVID-19, and came with a side of hollandaise sauce that was so decadent I could drink it. I love hollandaise and have made it plenty of times, but this was THE best I’ve had. It was whipped and creamy like butter. My date had the New York strip which was huge, flavorful, and tender. He got it with béarnaise sauce which was also smooth and delicious. Then we got the bread pudding to share for dessert which was terrific, especially the sauce. We were celebrating a special occasion, so they brought it out with a sparkler torchy thing. Very festive and memorable. We really enjoyed every bit of the meal and hope to come back for a special occasion in the future.
One of the best places to eat for a birthday or any special occasion for that matter. Ambience is classic steak house looking out on the mighty Mississippi.
We had a certificate that I bought at a silent auction for charity for dinner and a night in hotel and thanks to Chynna with Lauberge we finally got to use it....she extended the use date for us about six times and for that I am so grateful.
The valet guys are so friendly too and our server at dinner was a Will Smith smooth server.
We had three specialty cocktails and then a nice bottle of Meomi Pinot with a ribeye, redfish and smoked prime rib.
The meal was paced well and the food very good. It isn't inexpensive so know going in it is a special occasion and celebration place. Unless maybe you are Drew Brees.
We had a nice comp chocolate flourless cake brought out for my birthday too. Too full and tired to gamble but the comfy bed took care of that a short walk away.
Thanks again and happy birthday to me!
If your looking for an elegant restaurant this is the place to be. Make sure to make reservation as it is almost a requirement. The food is wonderful and the staff is beyond professional. Our waiter Dylan was perfect.
What a meal! Was wary due to some of the reviews but....
Bbq shrimp n lobster dumplings fantastic,
Trout almondine to die for and it is trout!!
Go dine and enjoy, service and food were impeccable!
The seafood bisque was seasoned perfectly & the seafood was very well done. The mozzarella & tomato salad is very savory & deconstructed. The asparagus was cooked well & the flavor was perfect. The mushrooms were very tasty and were very rich-flavored.
Was skeptical after reading reviews. Birthday party of 13, great service, server knowledgable on menu and wine list. French onion soup, small filet with BBQ Shrimp very good. Steak cooked a perfect rare! Server split checks w/o problem. Steak/service /ambience as good as Sullivan's and Ruffino's....
I disagree with the previous reviews! My husband and I enjoyed a most lovely evening at 18 Steak! Our server was most knowledgeable and attentive. My duck was cooked perfect with a pink, not rare center! My husbands filet was also cooked as ordered! Presentation was elegant, down to the onion soup served in an onion! We have traveled thru much of Europe, Canada, Mexico, etc. and was pleasantly surprised with 18 Steak!

18 Steak at L'Auberge capped the evening off with a delicious dessert and the rarest of the rums. For the dessert, L'Auberge's Pastry Chef Arlety Estévez utilized coconut pudding, exotic fruit compote with pineapples and more, and mango sorbet. The dessert as a whole impressed me. Each layer of flavors complimented the next. The mango sorbet wound up being my favorite aspect of it. With very faint hints of chili, the sorbet stood out as unique, playful, and a great addition to the arrangement of fruity flavors. As for the rum, there was no need to fix a cocktail with this nectar. The 1703 rum is complex with flavors of vanilla, caramel, and some fruitiness. The rums that go into the 1703 have been barrel aged between 15 and 30 years to create a refined rum that is meant to be sipped and enjoyed. So I did. Every last drop. A great cap to a wonderful dinner. Next time you see a dinner like this at L'Auberge, make your reservations!
