Hardee's

Fifteen minutes just to get to the window and hear they hadn't put our chicken on. They gave us grilled chicken instead of breaded. Fries tasted weird. I was really, really happy about the onion rings until I popped one in my mouth and it was weirdly stale and chewy. My burger was literally built upside down, with the veggies on the bottom and a paper-thin burger patty on top, which had a weird taste, too. I feel like I got more done sitting in the back seat of our car, knitting maybe six rows while we waited, than these three guys got done in their entire workday. I get fast food is stressful, genuinely. These men spent their holiday serving in an underpaid, necessary field instead of being with their families, and that's commendable. But when it gets to the point where a family of three has to throw all of their food away because it tastes wrong, that's when food safety kind of becomes questionable. At worst we ate old or unsafe food, and at best, we wasted money and wound up hungry at the end of the night.
