On a bit of a whim we ended up at Acquaviva. We had been to the winery & restaurant out in Maple Park previously and knew it to be good. We showed up at 6:30 to dine in and were greeted and seated right away. The menu and specials are Italian and seafood. We ordered the baked clams for an appetizer, the stuffed shrimp special and veal Marsala. Timing was a bit off on the shrimp showing up at the table but everything was great. Good service in these strange post-covid times and really good entrees. Cannot ask for more. Pricing seems a tad high but not bad for this elegant restaurant.

Just had a wonderful lunch at Acquaviva Ristorante Batavia. The artichokes are a can't miss appetizer. The grilled calamari and octopus were great as well as the tomato caprese salad. The service was very good. All paired with their Prairie Star white wine, which is grown and produced at their Maple Park winery. My only issues were that the tomatoes in the caprese weren't ripe, a better choice would have been an heirloom variety. The octopus was a little tough. But we will definitely return. What a hidden gem.

We needed a place to celebrate an anniversary that was local and nice but not overly fussy. This place was perfect. We ordered both calamari starters as well as shrimp- all were the perfect way to start off our meal. Our dinners we ordered ranged from pasta plates to pizza to a salad as well as a seafood special. All ages (12 to 70) had rave reviews of their meals- that is a tough feat. Out waitress was personable, knowledgeable, and attentive. Although we live across the country we do come to Batavia once a year and will definitely be back.

Our first time having dinner as we have only did wine outside on the patio. We had baked clams for an appetizer. They were golden brown and cooked perfect. Could be the best I have had with a twist of lemon and some hot sauce. Perfect bite. For dinner I had the ravioli with meatballs. The gravy was very similar to my grandmothers and the ravioli was an pillow filled with ricotta and cooked firm to the tooth. The other dishes we ordered were also very good with generous portions. The white fish in a lemon caper sauce, chicken Alfredo, and caprese salad. The best part was of course the bread and they do it right. Crunchy crust warmed and ready to dip into olive oil and pepper. Price was reasonable and service very good. We will be back for many more meals@

I wonder if anyone reads this, but I will try. I come here perhaps once each month, just myself, sit at the bar, enjoy a martini or more and enjoy a fine meal. I was struck tonight with a lack of service worthy of my $100 or so tab. Food was fine, as were the drinks yet the service was lousy. There were no paper napkins under my drinks and was told we ran out? I had to ask for warm bread more than once? I could complain more but the essence of this is a disappointment that the bar staff did not treat my visit with the fine dining experience I was expecting and am accustomed to . Step it up, folks.

I went there last weekend because they started serving pizza. The pizza was pretty good and I really liked the sauce. One thing they need to fix is the appetizer menu. If you want to attract the pizza crowd you need to have some regular appetizers. Most pizza people aren't looking for oysters, clams or shrimp. How about some mozz Stix. If they get some normal appetizers I will go back.
