My favorite tea shop in Baltimore with sone of the best loose leaf selection in the area! The cafe is a perfect work/study spot, I’ve always had great interactions with the baristas. I love the innovative seasonal offerings and lovely array of little treats as well, usually from neighborhood bakeries! Also a huge fan of the website, meticulously updated and full of details fir those newer to the world of tea. Something for everyone, even a typical non-tea drinker. Pop in!

Amazing tea selection! The barista is very knowledgeable about them and excited to recommend different teas. WiFi and outlets available at most seats. I love that they have reusable glassware for dine-in and disposable cups for take-out. Very cozy and welcoming atmosphere for productive working/studying.

#1 tea shop in the DMV, hands down. Honestly, it's the best kept secret in Baltimore and truly a GEM! Even more so, the owner is so active in supporting the community and honestly is an unsung hero. Stop by for the best tea you'll ever have, tasty treats, a productive work environment, and browse the awesome books available there as well.

I wish I didn't work night shift so much, otherwise I'd come here more often. It's a unique hole in the wall location, a rare find in Baltimore that everyone should go to for tea. Super zen place with enough seating and internet is available for customers, I think. Staff also very friendly, informative, and patient - they had great calm energy. They sell vegan desserts and snacks, but not made in house - I think they have a partnership with a bakery. Absolutely amazing tea - if you like variety, this is the place. They have a rotating menu of seasonal drinks, and this time they had Sakura themed drinks and I had to try the Matcha Amazake soda after I saw it on their Instagram (see the two toned drink below). So delicious and refreshing - not as sweet as I thought it would be. My friends both got the Salted Sakura drink, served hot, and it was very pleasant and also very visually appealing. High quality, clear flavors in their tea, cannot recommend enough.

Pillion tea is a great addition to the Mt Vernon neighborhood! It's a cute, quiet spot and would be a great place to get work done or meeting up with friends. They have a large selection of loose leaf teas, and also make specialty tea drinks and house-made sodas. They have a rotation of pastries and cookies as well.

Very cozy and quiet place! I tried one of their seasonal drinks and it tastes awesome. It’s a fusion of Asian tea cultures with an amazing selection of pastries! The pastries are not too sweet. It’s such a nice place to kill time and just sit and chill. Will definitely visit again and hope to get some work done here next time :D the only negative thing though is the ventilation and air circulation is not too great. AC is not strong enough in a hot summer day.

absolutely amazing place!! it's tucked down between some other staircases so it's easy to miss, but the atmosphere is superb, the lady working behind the counter is incredibly friendly and knowledgable about the teas they offer. speaking of, they have a very wide selection of teas available, including seasonal and specialty drinks such as a london fog (which comes with vanilla syrup and lavender flower in it, it's delicious both hot and iced!) seriously, if you're in the area while they're open, it's a must-try!

Fantastic shop. Lovely owners, comfortable space and the tea is hands down some of the best I’ve ever had. The blends are fantastic and specialty drinks are delicious.

A really lovely tea and book shop! The amount of tea on offer is staggering, and I got some very good recommendations. I also got book recommendations as well! The Russian Caravan blend is my favorite so far. Would love to come back the next time I'm in the area!

I've come in a few times now, and I've always been met with smiles and welcoming service. I often have trouble finding spots around town that fit my tea needs, but Pillion really has become the tea shop that Mount Vernon needs. They have a robust variety of teas to suit every tea desire I could possibly have, and I'm sure what anyone else could have too. And it's easy to take the tea home that you love the most, as they sell it by the ounce. They make wonderful suggestions to tea newcomers and have a nice specialty board that really shows the creative talent of the two owners. Fabulous establishment!
