Review Quarry Bagel & Cafe - Baltimore

Love the food and the customer service. I have been coming here for the past 8 years and they are very consistent. The prime rib sandwich was fantastic! I ordered it with extra meat!!

The bagels and trimmings (cream cheese, sandwiches, whitefish salad, etc) are all good as usual. I think, for carry out, it's a little unorganized though. The staff was very nice and helpful. Will certainly go there again.

We have been here many times and never left a review. Our visit today I wanted to mention was extremely clean, and the food was cooked to order fresh. Panini and Shawarma were delicious. Staff were friendly and there were many regulars sitting in conversation that the staff knew by name. Love the tables in the back.

My wife and I have been dinning here since April 2020. We make it a point to eat here weekly. We love the egg croissant sandwiches with turkey bacon. We also enjoy the best desserts here too like chocolate tops, baklava, and rainbow cake. Don't forget the top brand ice cream as well. My favorite is the muddy boots. We always run into a familiar face here. A great neighborhood cafe. The owner is always friendly and goes out of his way to make his customers happy. The staff too does a great job in taking our order and bringing the food out quickly and hot. Overall, great cafe, wonderful staff, and delicious food. There are also tables so one can eat outside on a nice day.

Delicious Sesame bagel with lox and Whitefish salad. Who knew you could have such a fabulous combo.

My boyfriend commented that their bagels are notably better than a lot of other local spots. It feels like a classic deli, and they served me whitefish salad (my favorite!) without any obvious judgement. The whitefish salad could be smokier and chunkier, but it was still good and there were no bones!

Very appealing options on the menu with lots of variety. I've gotten avocado toast there and an omelette and loved both.. be sure to check out the chocolate truffle coffee they always have brewing, soo good. The owner, Mo, is very personable and offers excellent customer service as well. Love this place!

The pastrami bagel sandwich I had exceeded my expectations! The pastrami was fresh, heated, and tasted amazing! The bagel was toasted to perfection. I would absolutely return to try different menu items, and I highly recommend visiting to purchase bagels in bulk!

The other reviews were with the 'old' owner pre-2014 / 2015. Good bagels.... not as 'doughy' as goldbergs- the area standard. good bialys.flats.lentil soup.
i like the egg salad and in-house chips. my husband likes the breakfast wraps.
coffee is fresh, restaurant is bright.
order at the counter and grab a table.... but i bet the owner would take your order at the table if you
have mobility issues. the owner. family are trying hard / want to make a go of business and i hope they succeed.

Just avoid. I've never reviewed any place to eat before this one but it really stinks. I ordered a bagel sandwich for lunch and specified when I ordered 'no tomato'. Once I had completed my order at the register I reiterated no tomato and the cashier read it back to me that way. When I sat down my food took a little while to make and when it was brought to me there was tomatoes on it. I calmly brought it back and it was returned to me about 15-20 seconds later. When I asked if he simply removed the tomato, he said yes. I kindly requested that they make it again and he complied. After waiting 7 minutes, they brought it out to me without cheese this time. I brought it back (again) and it was returned to me, not sliced in half and cold cheese on it. When I ate it, the bagel was decent but everything inside was subpar. If you are going to charge me 11.50 for a turkey sandwich and a drink, make it right. There simply has to be a place with better, cheaper food. I will never give this place my business again.

Turkey and Goat Cheese?. I went in expecting typical bagel shop fare, and boy was I surprised. Instead of getting a bagel sandwich, I wound up with a turkey and goat cheese panini with mango chutney. Totally delicious. They told me that the chips that came with it were made there. I believe them since they were hot on the plate. I took a bite of my son's bagel, and it was great also. Place was crowded, and we had to wait for a seat, but it was worth it.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE AROUND!!!. I used to go to Quarry Bagel probably about once a week. I always got the same thing "Panini Caprese" I loved it, it was warm melted cheese, tomato, and delicious bread and balsamic - however, during one of my most recent trips, they served this Panini pretty much cold. I politely asked the manager/owner if they would possibly warm this up a little for me - he responded by saying - "it is supposed to be served cold" I told him I understand however, that isn't how it has been every other time I have ordered it. I just wanted him to heat up my sandwich. He still refused.
Then, about a week later some of my co-workers were ordering from QB - I decided to give it another chance and maybe my Panini would be made how it usually was - I specifically asked on the phone for them to heat the Panini a little longer than usual - the manager was again put on the phone to tell me that the sandwich was served cold - (why would a Panini be served cold?) I said OK, I would like to change my order then, he responded "No, your order is already done"- I accepted the fact that I was about to pick up a cold Panini and said OK.
Finally - when my co-worker and I went to pick up the food and asked to pay on two separate cards. We were told flat out "NO"....

This place has delicious food, however, their customer service is outrageous. I have worked in customer service for many years and have worked in the restaurant business and you do not treat customers this way.

If I am paying for food and I want to request that it be heated up a little longer, I have the right to do that and if this restaurant cared about their customers they would have worked with me and not shut me down and make me feel like my request was illegitimate.

I will NEVER go to that place again, and after hearing my experience the majority of my co-workers aren't eating there either.

Disappointing at best.... This is my first time ever writing a review. If you ask any of my friends, I am the first one to gush over a great restaurant experience--unfortunately, Quarry Bagel will not be offered as a recommendation...EVER! To begin, I actually like their bagels- but would rather buy a bagel and cream cheese from The Fresh Market and assemble at home to avoid this place. But everything else about the place makes the overall experience miserable. I am not even talking about dining in. The act of just ordering a bagel to go is equally troublesome. The owner comes off as a total a$$. He is rude, univiting, and looks like every act of managing a restaurant is a burden. Would it kill him to smile? It's not just the customers he is cold too; he interacts with staff like he is herding cats. The prices are about $1-$2 high. The place is disorganized and chaotic. The cups are a joke- they have upgraded from styrofoam to paper-thin plastic (super!). It amazes me this place is crowded ever. My prediction is that the place will be sold by the end of 2011 to new owners and not a minute too soon. The volume clearly shows there is a need for a bagel place in the Quarry and people still show up despite the overpriced, uninviting atmosphere.

Absolute Best Bagels in Baltimore!!!!. My family and I have been going to Quarry Bagel at least once a week since they opened. The bagels are out of this world amazing! I am also a huge fan of their veggie sandwhich which consists of avocado, hummus and various veggies on deliciously fresh bread. I have brought many friends here and everyone has loved it. I can not emphasize enough how delicious the bagels are.

My friends and family have ordered various meat dishes which they have also enjoyed. The atmosphere is pleasant and relaxing. My only complaint is that there is not always enough seating around lunch time (wish the place was a little bigger). However, there is a nice outdoor dining area when weather permits.

Try the bagels - you will not be dissapointed (coming froma very picky bagel fan).

Worse Ever. Way too expensive. Owner is rude. Can't blame the kids that work there. For a bagel with Cream cheese and ONE slice of tomato the total cost was $3.45, this did not include a coffee or anything else. No attempt at preparation, they just throw a patty of cream cheese on the bagel and throw it at you, and you have a 50% chance of having it toasted even if you ask.
FYI this is my first ever internet review of anything, that is how wronged I feel.

Food = OK but Owner/Manager Rude!. So the Mrs and I went there for the first time this past Sunday morning.

Pros:
Food being served look good
Bagels were great (8 out of 10)
liked the homefries

Cons:
The owner and/or manager guy was sooooo rude to the employees working there. Constant complaining and talking to them like they were lower than dirt. For this alone, I probably won't be back!
My omelet was not quite cooked all the way through. The "salsa" inside was boring with a capital "B" (np flavor or pizazz)!
Service was slow

I'd probably go back and give it another shot if the owner was not such a d!ck to his employees. It was really sad to see him treat them that way!!!!!!!!!!!

We Tried to Try it. Today after my MRI next door, we decided to try the Quarry Bagel Cafe.
We walked in, I asked the guy do we sit to get waited on, he said yes.
then he comes over and says, you have to order up here and then I bring you the food.
So we get up to go the counter and the guy says, you might want to sit before you lose your table... I was so confused we just walked out!

Mostly great. The first time I went there I thought that I will never be back for their foam cups for hot beverages - I HATE foam cups.
After all everything we tried there was so good that we keep coming back, and every time we do, I miss my hot tea... Owner, please stock up on some mugs - they are only 29 cents at IKEA!!!
Their grilled cheese is delicious, the chips are great, grilled ham & cheese is the best, sunny side up egg was cooked perfectly, whitefish salad was very good. But do avoid the crab soup - this hot liquid was looking and tasting ridiculous and served in the melamine bowl. All in all I do recommend this place. And the service is always good. Once I had a bunch of little kids in the car and one of their guys took my order and brought everything to the car.

Best Flats. Try the "FLATS"...better than bagels! The bagel baker is THE BEST!
Gary
Prices are ridiculous and the sandwich was just ok, lacked flavor. The guy at the register seemed to have a bit of an attitude. Well $8.75 for a ham sandwich is crazy. Won't be back.

Horrible, by far the worst service I have ever experienced. Also they messed up my order three times in 35 minutes and all I ordered was 2 eggs over medium with wheat toast lol! Bunch of retards work there and own the place.
