Review Shiso Tavern - Baltimore

Stopped at this place sweet little place after visiting our daughter in the NICU. What a pleasant surprise!!! Awesome ambience upon entering with vibrant chalk board drawings of all the fresh sushi specials!!! Our service there was bar none and hands down one of the best server bartenders we have ever had!!! The sushi was delicious and came out before my fiance even got out the bathroom!!! Can't wait till the next time we eat there again!!!

Service, price and taste is NEVER a disappointment when it comes to Shiso Tavern.... We frequently visit weekly for the last 2 years and we have yet to leave unhappy. From the moment you walk in you are greeted by a server or the manager at the bar, seated in a timely manner, and then greeted again by your server. We normally (always) sit at the sushi bar upstairs and try not to come until after the upstairs is open (for us talking to Tim, Danny and Sunny are one of the reasons why we enjoy the restaurant). One time the upstairs wasn't open and we sat downstairs and one of the regular servers saw us he told the owner Tim and he sent for us you come eat upstairs.... Talk about customer service.... my husband and I were floored.... I didn't at once think we were that important to them to allow us to sit upstairs even though it was closed.... By far the best sushi in town... We have yet to find the combination of service, price and taste at ANY other restaurant like we find at Shiso Tavern. Nigri is top quality.... Their "Baked" roll is something you have to experience (talk about melt in your mouth delicious) and no other place we have found has Kimchi as flavorful as here (they make it in house). I work in customer service and understand how hard it is to hire good people and keep your customers happy but Tim has found away to do it all and still make Sushi on a busy Sunday and give great conversation and even say "Thank You and Bye" to every customer that leaves the upstairs....with service like this Tim and his awesome crew will continue seeing us weekly....

I just tried Shiso this past Saturday during their happy hour to try out their sushi for 25% off. The sushi was fresh, the dumplings I ordered were a bit over fried but honestly it didn't really matter bc I was so hungry & otherwise they were good. I'll be coming back here again for sure

Efficient service, good specials. Shrimp fried rice, pork belly ramen, spring rolls, garlic chili edamame, specialty roll shown in pics. Bang for your buck on portions.

Ordered take out. Should have dined in & it would have been cheaper, so says their website for happy hour prices. Got the Canton Roll & the Santa Barbra Wild Fire Roll

Vegetables stir fry with tofu was the best. My boyfriend and I will be back again.

Love their ramen bowl, it was sweet and spicy. The Russian Roulette sushi was funny to play. 😍Kimchi😍

I stop in here probably once a week. Dana is usually running the bar and she's amazing! So attentive and cares about her customers. Happy hour is great, sushi is great, and prices are fair. Also, the Ramen here is some of the best you can get in the city, try it out!

First time going with a friend after work on Wednesday and we absolutely loved it! The speciality roll that the waiter suggested was absolutely delish with lump crab meat and cheese!! The waiter even took the time to write down the ingredients for the specialty roll just in case when we return it’s not on the menu. The waiter was so sweet and attentive. I look forward to returning and telling my friends about our experience. The drinks were definitely worth the price!

Food was delicious. Service was excellent. Had the sashimi salad.... 3 different kinds of fish, fresh vegetables bursting with flavor. The waitress was very helpful with choosing an entree and provided attentive service. I'll definitely be back again.

Fresh sushi every time. Warm atmosphere. We chose to eat at the bar so we can converse with Dana, our favorite bartender. Always a pleasure to be in her company. I think most of the regulars would agree.

Nice upscale atmosphere. They serve amazing food, both cooked dishes and sushi. My favorites are the Spring Rolls (the best dipping sauce!), Canton Roll, and Chicken Pad Thai. Dana works magic behind the bar, amazing libation concoctions and stellar service!

This is our go to place, phenomenal food, generals chicken and lo mein is our go to dishes every single time. We also have done every piece of sushi on the menu, it’s all worth it. Plus you can’t beat happy hour deals with 25% all food! Amazing staff, great food, good price.

Delightful, casual tavern setting with a delightful menu. great service, friendly and efficient. The menu offers a fine selection of tasty foods. Happy hour prices make this an even better value. Their kimchee is amazing!

Staff is always friendly and the bartenders make some interesting concoctions. Happy hour deals here are incredible especially for Sushi. Everything always tastes fresh. Probably one of the best general tsos chicken around too.
