Review Minato Sushi Bar - Baltimore

Happy hour here has a great selection and actual Happy Hour pricing. Rolls can be purchased for about $7 and drinks are also very affordable. Pair this with the modern decor and quiet setting and you have a very classy after work spot for cocktails and Sushi. I had spicy Tuna, Boston, and california rolls. The sushi taste was awesome and looked great. For my meal I had the Teriyaki Chicken which was really good and a good size portion. This was not on the happy hour menu but was def worth a try. I had a mango Martini and a cosmo for my drinks. Both drinks were strong as an ox even tho I missed my martini glass. I will be back for lunch to see about their bento box. Or maybe for happy hour again to try the large assortment of dumplings ;-)

LOVE Minato’s! We’ve been coming here for years, even when they were further down Charles St. Yum! Their HH can’t be beat. But even if you miss it, the options are vast and everything is delicious.

For over 30 yes this local restaurant has served delicious sushi staples w a concoction of other Asian delicacies. Masterfully run and curated by Alex and his ever beautiful wife Tammy. This family affair continues to provide much needed sustenance to Baltimore now helmed by none other than their pride and joy son, Austin. Come here to enjoy honest food, made w care.

Omg!!!!!!delicious Owner was a little rude at first. So much so that the people sitting at the table beside us told us you guys should stay "The food is really good". We listened to him and the food was amazing. The atmosphere was even better. The Dog roll was amazing

FOR THE HAPPY HOURS 5 STARS A dear friend and I had been planning for a sushi dinner for a couple weeks before the start of school. I had been recommended this place by another dear friend who has told me this place has great prices for the sushi. Happy hours are completely worth it. We ordered 3 special rolls and the sweet potato tempura roll. The sweet potato tempura is A Must if you haven’t had it before. The sweetness and softness of the purple potato they used is just such a combination with rice - it reminded me of my love for potatoes, and how they taste so much better when they are mixed with rice, one of my favorite ways to eat rice in Korean cuisine. The fish was quite fresh and for happy hour prices that were around $5 less than their originally worth I was more than happy with it. Service was great and we were regularly checked upon on. The layout of the restaurant surprised me in terms of how open and high the ceilings were that gave a sense of spaciousness I really liked accompanying our meal.

Fresh fish, good miso, and I like the customization options of the bento. My favorites special rolls are the Super Bowl (in the bento) and the April roll. Not too crowded during lunchtime. They switch between the lunch and dinner menus around ~3-4p.

Went here for dinner. Tried the gyoza, shumai, and some rolls. They have 2 separate type of rolls (premium and normal, which is noticable by their appearance). It's pretty good for people who can't stand the fishy taste of sushi. The eels sushi is strongly recommended.

My boyfriend and I came here for a date and When I tell u a picture is worth a thousand words. Well hopefully the picture speaks for itself. The atmosphere is awesome. The owners and the employees are amazing. If I can give the atmosphere and the food 10 stars I would.. definitely will go back again

My first time going here. It was happy hour so very busy and our waiter was amazing. Very attentive, kind, never seemed stressed that there was a lot of hustle & bustle. He easily accomodated our group of 8. Even took our group picture. Will definitely go back.

My only complaints about this restaurant are the apps and the service. Otherwise, the sushi was delicious and the contents of our bento box was amazing.

Happy hour was great. Had a lot of food for quite cheap. Ate shrimp, crab, and tuna rolls, and two fried snacks as well. I found the chicken dumpling a bit off but they comped it so all good.

Back in December Minato suffered water damage from a fire in the building next door. They were closed for repairs for nearly six weeks, reopening in mid-January. I stopped in for lunch two days later to treat myself to some sushi, lend some support, and see how the place looked. Minato has been my go-to place for sushi for as long as they’ve been there. My partners, friends, and I have had many satisfying meals over the years, and I’ve sent many of my prospective clients there for lunch or dinner (I own a wedding venue a couple of blocks away). The food has always been consistently good, the service competent if not always the most attentive, and the environment delightful. There was one more item on my agenda for that lunch visit. The last time I had been in, in the fall of 2019, I had a disappointing experience. The sushi wasn’t up to their usual high standards. It was, in a word, boring. Could ownership have changed? Was quality control slipping? I feared for the worst. To my delight, everything was as it had always been, if not better! The food was excellent, both the front and back rooms looked fantastic, and the service was, well, as usual. By the way, I like restaurants where I can carry on a comfortable conversation with my dining companion without shouting to be heard. Minato always fits that bill, even when it’s busy and full. I’m a big fan of their seaweed salad and miso soup. Both were just right and served attractively, in perfect portions. The sushi was exactly what I expected, which is to say as good as any found anywhere save for restaurants that are significantly more expensive. Speaking of money, the aforementioned salad and soup, ten pieces of sushi, and some delicious strawberry mochi ice cream came to less than twenty bucks. I was perfectly happy with that for a fine lunch in a beautiful place ( I love their decor!). I think you will be, too.

We tried Minato a few weeks ago and honestly it was fine. Dispite the large exciting selection they had nothing that really jumped out at us, we tried two bento boxes and again they were fine but nothing to special. The dumplings were extremely good though.

Beautiful setting, friendly staff! I ordered the Beef Pho and a Spider Roll which was amazing. My boyfriend enjoyed his Chicken Teriyaki and the crab wonton he ordered was delicious with a nice crisp to them. We will be returning!

We stopped in at Minato for dinner before a show at the Lyric. I am so glad we did! We were pleasantly surprised to find they had a weekend happy hour on both sushi and drinks. I can’t recommend the Saketini enough. For dinner we got the kimchi dumplings which were good, but the star of the show was the sushi. The rolls were generous and delicious. The staff was attentive and friendly. All in all, I think I found my new go to spot before a night at the Lyric.

Awesome sushi reasonably priced. Really enjoyed the Laura roll and the Arizona roll. Oscar is a fantastic chef and the service was top notch. This is what sushi dining should always be. Will definitely come back.
