I ate at Alfonso's for the first time today. I ordered the El Dorado Plate, which comes with a crunchy taco, two taquitos and a bean and cheese tostada. I opted for the chicken taco, which was made with pulled chicken, lettuce & cheese. When I added some of their green salsa it was an exceptional taco. The two taquitos were also chicken, and were fried crisp but not hard (in other words, just right). Served with an adequate amount of guacamole, it was once again the green salsa that helped make a winning combination. The bean and cheese tostada was the weak link in this mix, as I could only categorize it as ok. It was quite simply bland and tasteless. Neither the red or green salsa could save it. I drove through, so I cannot attest to either the décor or the ambience inside the restaurant, but the young lady working in the window was friendly and courteous. I paid cash, so I had no problems with the financial transaction. Overall I rate this first visit as a B+. I will return.
Great breakfast and food! Recommend the shredded beef, one of the best in town!
Restaurant quality food with a drive through. Decent prices, I don't know why anyone would go to the taco bell 50 ft. Away when Al Alfonsos is right there.
Love this place! I've been coming here for years. They're super friendly and the food is great!
Yummy food here.
VERY AUTHENTIC.
Love the bean, papa, bacon & cheese Breakfast burrito... 3 if is girls share one! The enchiladas are great & I love their taquitos.
Very nice, friendly staff.
Highly Recommend!🥰😍🥰😍🥰😍
Alfonso’s is pretty much the only place left in Bakersfield where you can get a delicious $6 burrito. There really is no better value in town, and you’d be hard pressed to find somewhere as good for the prices elsewhere. The menu is big, the staff is very nice, and the amount of cars in the drive through at any given time should show you how popular it is. The California and Baja burritos are awesome, both highly recommended. The super fries may be the best though! They come with the standard dressings of Carne Asada fries but you can choose your meat (I like Al Pastor best). The $11 full size is a ton of food for the price. I must also mention that their red salsa is pretty good and not too spicy for those who prefer it that way! Tip for those people complaining about the drive through times: 1. Park your car 2. Put on a mask 3. Go inside 4. You get your food faster!
Love their food. The wait is usually long if there’s a couple cars but totally worth the wait
