I can't say enough about the flavors of the food. The dungeonus (sp) crab oh gratin was fantastic as well as the trout with scalloped potatoes. Oh my word and the bread and butter were not just bread and butter. It reminded me of my Grammy's fresh baked bread. The little potato crisp and smear was yummy on it. The fresh strawberries with meringue out of this world. Not only as the service too notch but the chef came out to the tables and the our waitress stopped a bomb on us. Two couples had paid out bill because we moved so they could eat and sit outside. The hostess even came over to say thank you as we were leaving. I really was brought to tears by the generosity of the two couples and their sweet doggie who had a bowl full of water given to it. I can't say enough about Marche's food staff and patrons. Thank you for the memories.
We really enjoyed our dinner: oysters, french onion soup, duck breast and mussels. The side of bread that we were offered was warn with a great crust. The ambience was great. Highly recommend.
We’ve been dining here for many years and still love it after a three year absence. Chef Greg and Betsey do an amazing job turning out excellent food and warm, friendly service. We ate here twice during our most recent stay on Bainbridge. First night we sat at the bar - they were at full capacity - and had a great meal of seared fresh wild salmon and mussels & frites. Our server was warm and wonderful and we had a great chat with Betsey about their creative cocktail program. Chef’s house made rolls with cultured butter is a must have here! They are warm and crusty and perfect. Everything he makes is great. There are no bad choices. So happy to see it thriving in this challenging time for the hospitality industry. Marche is a gem worth seeking out.
If you’re looking for traditional French food, this isn’t the place. Like another review said, there is actually more American dishes than French ones. But! The mussels were really good though.
(Et si vous êtes bretons, les moules frites, ça nous connaît. Celles ci étaient délicieuses. La sauce était parfaite.)
The crème brûlée was meh. Cracked well on top but that’s the only good thing about it.
Service was good, waiter was great. It’s a nice restaurant.
Long time favorite. The seasonally changing menu draws on fresh regional ingredients offered with two takes. There are always the French Bistro standards and the daily specials are American comfort fare like your aunties never made. Strive to save room for dessert.
It's been nearly 3 years since we've been back to Marché due to the pandemic and it was SOOO nice to be back.
What's lovely about Marché is that there's nothing fussy or super unexpected on the menu, but everything is just perfectly well done. Chef utilizes whatever he gets from the local farms and finds creative way to get them on the menu.
The market salad with endive, arugula and rasberries was a beautiful way to start a meal. My wife got the chicken special that also had rasberries and it was perfectly cooked. The chicken was juicy and flavorful with a pan sauce with rasberries that made for a lovely dinner in the sun on the patio.
I had the king salmon with grilled leeks, rhubarb sauce and fingerling potatoes. Salmon with rhubarb is great! Who knew?? The salmon was cooked perfectly.
5 stars, not because it's mind-blowing, but because it's all super good and perfectly done.
I love this place! Local amazing food. Great cocktails. And very warm and friendly staff. A perfect date night spot!
