I cannot recommend Chef Eric enough! The food, service, and experience all exceeded my expectations. His mix of professionalism and personality make for an unforgettable event. I can't wait for my next work, family, or social event so that I can enjoy his amazing food again. Board dinner, baby shower, private dinner (birthday, bachelor/ette) 10/10.

We had a girls weekend schedule for Austin and decided to have one of the evenings catered by Culinary Misfits. What a great decision! I spoke with Chef Eric who gave me some great options and made the entire process easy. He called me the week before the event to tell me Chef D was going to be our chef as Eric was going to be out of town. While I was somewhat disappointed, I saw the reviews about Chef D and was not too concerned. Well, sometimes things happen for a reason. Chef D came with his assistant Melanie and they were TERRIFIC! They set up and were very respectful of our privacy in terms of conversation in the adjoining living room. They just made it all happen without us having to do a thing. They fixed the amazing food, set the table, they plated, presented, served our dessert, cleaned up and, when invited, became part of the conversation and party. It was truly a highlight of the weekend....and there were many that weekend! Very intuitive people who know how to read the party/situation/group and will provide exactly the kind of experience you want. I cannot recommend Chef D, Mel and Culinary Misfits enough.

Eric catered my mom's 65th birthday party and truly added to the event, making it extra special! The lead-up: He was very helpful on the phone in planning the menu, asked great questions to figure out what would work best for the type of event we were having, and followed through completely on everything (even exceeding expectations). I felt he truly cared that my mom's birthday party was a success, and not just with the food. He asked about seating, color scheme, flow of the party, etc to make sure everything went perfectly. His experience and knowledge of throwing a successful party was incredibly helpful as this was my first experience throwing a party in my home. The food: Everyone at the party LOVED the food, and went on and on about it at the party and in the days that followed. The timing of the food was perfect and allowed the party to flow effortlessly. It was a perfect mix of small bites and plates (per Eric's recommendation). It seems you can't go wrong when picking from his menu-impossible to choose a favorite! The clean-up: I am a little picky about how things are cleaned...and I am happy to report that Eric and his team did a perfect job of cleaning up. On top of that, I didn't even notice them doing it!! There was a little leftover which they neatly packing into he fridge. Zero attention was drawn to the kitchen while they were cleaning and getting ready to go- it felt like the next time I looked up at the kitchen everything was spotless and they were ready to go! To piggy-back on that point -I really didn't have to worry about ANYTHING, I just got to enjoy the food and the party. Honestly this was a more seamless and enjoyable catering experience than I had at my wedding! :) Eric was fun to work with, and is just a fun guy to have at your party. He didn't make the focus about himself, but did make a hilarious (and perfectly timed) joke in the middle of the evening that killed with everyone (i.e. he can read a room-very important). He made friends with my dog, and with the guitarist that we hired for the party, so it was just GREAT energy all around!! Eric and Luis, the guitarist, swapped info and I hope they work together in the future! In summary- I highly recommend using Eric for your next catering event! Thanks for making a great night even better, Eric! You were the perfect fit for my mom's party and helped us make lots of great memories.

I wanted to say "hello" to my last year in my 30's with something I REALLY like: eating food. So, I decided to host a birthday feast. To me there's nothing better than sharing a meal with friends. Unless that's sharing a meal I DIDN'T have to cook or clean up after. Chef Eric is a personal chef without the hefty price tag. (I didn't want to start my new year by adding to my student loan debt.) He made the meal memorable, deliciously perfect, and within my price range. AND his crew did the serving AND the cleaning. WIN TRIPLE WIN WIN WIN! The kitchen in the hotel apartment rental I rented wasn't the most modern, but Chef Eric excelled at overcoming this obstacle. The other hurdle that the hotel allowed for only 6 guests in a room. I had 17. We had to host in the first-floor event room. Chef Eric and his team navigated cooking on the 16th floor (where my hotel room was located) and then bringing down the food down to the 1st-floor event room. Even though it had a long journey, the food still looked stunning, was still hot and tasted delicious. Instead of looking beleaguered and haggard by this very major inconvenience, Chef Eric's wonderful servers still looked beautiful and were graceful, tasteful and fun as well (Bless them!) I don't know if I'd have been able to muster that much grace and provide superb service with a smile if I were in their shoes.) The steak was cooked perfectly and people wanted to take shots of the oh-my-gawd sooo good chimichurri. I was skeptical about squash as a side that Chef Eric suggested to compliment my steak selection, but it was deliciously prepared with no hint of squashiee-ness that squash often has when cooked (i.e. microwaved) at restaurants. And don't even get me started on how delicious that key lime pie was! It was served in a cute round jar and I wanted to lick the jar to get all of its goodness. I probably could have gotten away with that social faux pas since I was the birthday girl, but alas, I declined the temptation. Unfortunately, I had six people who couldn't attend because of unforeseen circumstances and Chef Eric boxed up the leftovers for me to enjoy. He even heated up some of them for a couple of hungry guests that showed up for the "after-party" in the hotel room. Chef Eric's waiters helped set up the rentals (dishes, silverware, linen and tables) and when the dinner was over, food was swiped from the linens, linens were folded neatly, the rental dishes were cleaned and stacked back nicely into the creates. When I entered back into the hotel room, the kitchen was spotless and sparkling. I enjoyed not having to clean after the party so I could enjoy my guests that stayed for the after-party. What a perfect way to celebrate the start of the last year in my 30's! Thank you, Chef Eric, and crew! I will definitely be calling upon you again for future dinner parties. And next time, I'll book a space where you don't have to travel up and down 16 floors.

Chef Eric came by on a Sunday morning to prepare brunch for my wife and 6 guests we had in town. It was a really special occasion having everyone together, and to have the meal taken care of was a real treat. Overall the experience was excellent - the food was great (crab cake Benedict, Tenderloin Benedict, Potatoes, Fresh Fruit Parfait) as was the service/presentation (family style, perfect for a chill brunch @ home). We look forward to another opportunity to have Culinary Misfits to another event. Thanks again!

Chef Eric was awesome! The food was amazing! He made the entire experience one to remember. Extremely easy to work with and I would 100% recommend him to anyone who is looking to have a chef for a party or event! I will definitely be a repeat customer.

Culinary Misfits made our rehearsal dinner party for 30 people a dream come true! From the elegant serving ware to the carefully prepared delicious cuisine, Chef Eric creates an event to remember fondly. His personable and experienced preparation, delivery, and style of his dishes creates a satisfying meal that creates a yearning to learn his secret recipes. How fun to have a photo booth to keep your guests entertained and making memories while he prepares! I highly recommend them for any party, event, or meal. You won’t be disappointed! 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
