If you’re looking for amazing Mediterranean food, please try Shishman! I was hesitant at first (never having tried it) but the Beef gyro over rice is too DIE for. So good. The portions are HUGE. The hummus is amazing as well. The hot sauce and white sauce are great additions. Literally my new favorite place in Austin, hands down.

Extremely happy to have such a good Mediterranean restaurant in Austin; we certainly need more diversity in Austin. Shishman offers authentic Mediterranean food at a very reasonable price. Service was great, staff was kind, atmosphere was pleasant, and food was yummy. This is a restaurant that you can come at least once a month and enjoy their food.
Amazing Food and Service. The place gives you a homely vibe with very comforting food. The ambience and food reminded us of our trip to the region last year. There is honestly no authentic Mediterranean food around here like this place and the best appetizers we have ever had! It was completely worth the drive from!!

You are in Austin, Texas and you are hungry... If you, like me, are picky and looking for food that your palate is used to, this is the first place to go... At the entrance, while your car is waiting in the parking lot, you are welcomed inside with courtesy and smiling faces... A friendly and warm environment, fast service and delicious food... These are what I expect from a restaurant... Mediterranean salad, chicken wrap and of course "falafel" are among the most popular dishes... Don't ask about the hummus, it is superb... "Combo beef" and "chicken plate" are among my favorites, but as a Mediterranean, I can't ignore hummus... The prices are not that expensive... You can fill up between $10 and $40 per person... There are also vegetarian options... Before I forget, this place is not only a restaurant... They also take food orders for special events... I heard that they are good at that too... I congratulate the friendly atmosphere, delicious food, kind staff and "good artisan bosses" and I say "come, see, eat"... I am sure you will be satisfied...
I ordered the beef Schwarma wrap and it's was just okay, not over the top flavorful and it was kind of tiny for $13 (after tax and tip). The cashier seemed to not be able to understand my question "what's white sauce, you know like ingredients"? Another guy there helped out but his English did not seem much better. I bearely caught the word "yogurt" between his garbled response. My suggestions to you Shishman is to learn the basics of communicating in English and know what and how each menu item is prepared. Customers will have questions. I only wish you well, to improve, and to prosper as a business.
This place is amazing! I was looking for new places to try and it's a winner. We ordered a chicken plate and a falafel plate, which includes the protein chicken/falafel, salad, a pita, and some really delicious rice. The portiona are generous, and everything is great. We chose both the spicy red and the white sauce, next time I might get the spicy sauce on the side because it is really spicy, but also really good! The employee was very pleasant, we were able to walk in and order at a little kiosk which was fast and easy, I don't really like ordering online or over the phone, so it sort of streamlined the process. The restaurant was clean and tidy, it was an overall great experience!
