I recently hosted an event in my backyard for the birthday of my neighbor, the nation's oldest WWII vet. I called Sugar Circus from the recommendation of another neighbor who had used them for his birthday last year. Definitely the perfect choice! They made and delivered (to the party right on time!) a half chocolate half white sheet cake. Not only was it beautiful and perfect for the party (and fed 100 people), it tasted AMAZING. What little leftovers were left I insisted people take away so i wouldn't be tempted to eat it all by myself. They will always be my first choice for any bakery needs! Super nice and even better they are local!
Sugar Circus is located inside a tiny house on the east side. I've only visited once but I am looking forward to going back soon. The cupcakes are kept in a cold case, I went out on a limb and got the Chocolate Covered Cherry vegan cupcake (I'm not vegan, it just look so yummy and I wanted to try it!) and I wouldn't know it was vegan if someone didn't tell me. The only thing I didn't like is the fact that the cupcakes are a bit cold...I like my desserts closer to room temperature so I can really taste everything. They have a neat to-go trick for taking single cupcakes (a small plastic cup, inverted so the lid is on the bottom...perfect platform for your cupcake), so I brought it home, let it warm up a bit and it was even more delicious than before. I look forward to trying their regular, non-vegan treats!
The cupcakes are superb. It is a sugarbomb (like cupcakes are supposed to be) so I wouldn't go there frequently, but it was the most delightful sugar rush I had had in weeks. They had an anniversary celebration which was super fun.
Sugar Circus is amazing! The chocolate peanut butter cake I ordered was ridiculously delicious. Please support this East Austin bakery!!
