This by far is the best Puerto Rican food I have had since I moved from the East Coast. I’ve tried other Puerto Rican food trucks in the area and nothing compares. Nothing on my plate was greasy for once!, The rice was perfectly seasoned and fresh. Tostones were not dry, rather fluffy and delicious, carne frita was cooked well and not fatty, and the potato salad was refreshing and the perfect addition to my meal. For a small food truck they are pumping out big flavor! Thank you El Coqui! Can’t wait to come back.

The boy and I came here for lunch last Sunday and were blown away. The owner of the truck was working the menu and was super friendly and helpful as we decided what we wanted to order. I ordered the Chicharron de Pollo with a side of rice, potato salad, and mofongos. This is the fried chicken dish but it isn't battered like American fried chicken. However, it was still crispy and delicious! The mofongos (mashed plantains) were crazy good. They had little bits of chicharron inside them and came with a dipping broth. Finally, the potato salad added a cold, creamy element that contrasted the crispy chicken and garlicky mofongos. My boyfriend ordered the Pernil with a side of rice, yuca, and maduros. The pernil is slow roasted pork that's loaded with tasty seasonings. It was crazy tender too. The yuca was cooked perfectly. The maduros were nothing short of unreal. They make their own maduros so the cook and flavor of these sweet plantains is really on point. We also tried the two sauces they offered. One was creamy and went well with the yuca. The other had a good kick to it and went well with EVERYTHING. :) Do yourself a favor and have a bite at this food truck.

Came here for the first time today and the owner was one of the friendliest guys ever met. Snagged a Cuban sando and he gave me a sample of his favorite dish while I waited. 10/10 will be back!

I came back from my trip to PR missing the hell out of Puerto Rican food, and imagine my joy when I found the best place in Austin for it just down the street from me. The carne frita here is fried perfectly, the chicharron de pollo has the perfect amount of garlic (hint: lots), and the arroz con gandules and tostones are on point. Everything here is tasty and possibly even better than some of the originals I had in PR. The owner, Jose, is hilarious and awesome. Have him put on some salsa music while you feast on his mofongos and lechon asado.

Absolutely love this food truck! I'm so happy they changed locations too because now they're even closer! Easily the best Puerto Rican food in town, so you have to go and try it!! The chicharron de pollo is my absolute favorite too!

Do not sleep on this gem! My first time trying PR food, and the staff was so helpful! I tried the pernil and the pollo guisado, and both were so savory and delicious with deep flavors. Loved the arroz con gandules and tried the platanos both ways! Both meats were juicy and tender; cooked just right. Oh and that potato salad hit too, as well as the habenero hot sauce and creamy garlicky sauce for dipping the platanos. Omg I can’t wait to go back. Such a hearty, satisfying, mouth-watering meal perfect all year-round but especially for when these temperatures dip.
