Chicken + Waffles + Bacon + Maple Syrup = a match made in heaven. I tried one of their waffle tacos, and it was incredibly delicious. It also only cost $5. That is a bargain when you consider the complete meal you're getting wrapped up in that waffle. The service was great and the people were immensely friendly. I feel this is a true Austin establishment.

If you like chicken and waffles or if you don't and want to give them a try, Lucky J's is amazing. The chicken is fried well. It's juicy and yummy and the batter is great. The waffles are thin and fresh. Everything is made to order and it's worth the wait. I also had the Nutella and peanut butter banana waffle. Delicious.

Discovered this place on what was apparently national waffle day. They have a variety of choices, but I get the Ms. M: a boneless fried chicken strip, thick bacon, swiss cheese all wrapped in a delicious waffle. The only downside to this place is I think there needs to be dipping cups for syrup. It seems to just slide to the bottom of my sandwhich?/taco? whatever it is.

The first time I thought about chicken served with waffles and drizzled in maple syrup and hot sauce - it sounded like a terrible idea. Then I tried it - MIND EXPLOSION! The perfect late night fix when you're out drinking or really need something hearty and delicious. Do it - and don't apologize.
