Mesa Rosa

Coming from a Mexican America: I decided this place from an Instagram post (mostly the playground and the fact that this momma could have a margarita in silence while kids go play). While I was on the way I read some reviews and hoped I wouldn't be disappointed. I won't know until I try it myself. On a Saturday evening it was not packed at all (which I preferred at the moment not to be around too many people). was sat right next to the playground (which was the hostess putting two and two together) and the waiter was already speaking my language about a margarita with tajin rim. My tamale plate was delicious. The margarita was my level of strong and stayed frozen despite temperatures out. My husband finished his entire plate. And the bill was about $120 after 4 margs, four entrees, small queso. The chips were warm and thin (which I love) and the salsa was perfectly mixed (not being too hot but very flavorful). I'm definitely going back so this momma can have a strong marg while the kiddos play (don't judge lol I'm a hard working motha). God bless this restaurant!

We went here at dinner time. It gets pretty busy, but I can see why. The patio is a party! Kids playing on the playground, entertainment, and waiters attending to tables. Fajitas were a bit more room temperature when they arrived without much flavor, but adding the guacamole and salsa made them delicious. Margaritas were strong and large! The atmosphere is definitely top-notch. Loved the Elvis impersonator!

We were visiting from near Chicago and stumbled upon this restaurant. We loved this atmosphere and our kids loved the playground! What a great addition to bring families in. The food was your typical Mexican restaurant food the margs were yummy and the fajitas were amazing! Service was a bit slow (Sunday evening) but the playground helped the time pass for our kids.

More than the food, Daniela is a great worker, always with a smile and practical! My wife loves her attention with the Kids and the order! Every time we come to Mesa Rosa, at the heart of Round Rock, * Rich Delicious food * Drinks are amazing Viva Moçambique, Viva Mexico I love Texas

Overall recommend - great food & margs, plus very large & nice covered patio and great enclosed playground area for kids. I had some service issues, but I’m guessing they were a little understaffed, which we all know is not uncommon lately. We waited 10-15 min after being seated on the patio before our server came. I put in the whole order at once then about 15 min later our entrees came out but we had still not received our drinks or appetizer. The missing items arrived shortly after and the server said she had been waiting on the bar (for my marg). I get that but by this time my toddler was almost in full on tantrum mode because he was thirsty and wanted his apple juice. Then his fries came out without ketchup (which I had emphasized when ordering) and he lost it 😳.I’m usually pretty understanding of stuff like this, having been a server for many years myself, I get it, sometimes things happen and you can’t control the kitchen and the bar. However it was not the most enjoyable experience but largely due to being there by myself with a cranky toddler 😭 I will come back to try it again though because in general a covered patio + margaritas + a playground is about the best thing a parent could ask for 🤣 but next time I’ll be prepared with a water cup and snacks in my purse in case the service is slow!
