Ken's Doughnuts & Pastries

Was initially skeptical because of the infamous rumors and reviews, but honestly was extremely, pleasantly surprised when I walked in this morning. The owner was so kind as to offer us two complimentary donuts while we decided what donuts to choose (and did the same to the next two customers behind us). They’re pretty damn good donuts too. The owner really cares to make you feel welcome and cared for. I’m thoroughly surprised and know that I’ll be back again :) definitely another local small business to add to your list!

Don't listen to the haters. The guy who runs this place doesn't give a damn about you, the ambiance is worn at best and the vibe is reminiscent of an episode of the twilight zone. But make no mistake, these donuts are made with love and as long as you get the donuts you ask for (which is no garuntee) then they are some of the best damn donuts you can get. Every trip to kens donuts is an experience and this place has certainly earned my five star review.

The BEST samosas in Austin. Even if the have none in the display case, they will make you some fresh. They are vegan and DELICIOUS!!!!!! The filling is perfectly spicy, not too hot or too mild. Just perfect. They let my son and me pick out a free donut while we waited. Excellent service and delicious North Indian food. Better than than that other Indian restaurant on 17th and Guadalupe. I have relatives from Chennai, so I know good Indian food. Trust me, the food is delicious and the prices are very reasonable.

Pretty solid donuts, though my favorite things to get here are the samosas and palak paneer. The staff is friendly, though not huge fans of working the graveyard shift. The shop smells heavenly, and if you are walking around when the start baking, it is pretty awesome. It is a nice local shop in the West campus area. Worth a stop of you are in the area.

-1 star because place looks horrible inside. I mean you never see people sit there because it is dirty and the tables n chairs are very cheap and flimsy. BUT they are open 24/7. The donuts are really good! The staff are really friendly! They make 2 batches of donuts everyday. The donuts seem to be made from scratch right there.

Ken's Donuts...yet another place I didn't try until after I graduated college. I guess the only thing you need to know about Ken's is that it's cheap and good. Whether you're wanting an early breakfast or a late night craving, Ken's Donuts always has your back 24/7. Their Samosas are good. Their donuts are amazing. Paying less than $5 for a dozen donut holes plus a few donuts is just heaven for any college student. But if you're feeling big, take out that credit card for over $5 orders. Otherwise stick to the cash as they don't accept cards for less than $5. The workers are awesome and I give them props for dealing with drunk people on late nights.

Who doesn't love donuts after a late night on the town? The donuts here are soft and flavorful. I would highly recommend coming here around 5 am if you want to get donuts warm and frest out of the oven. You can't beat the location next to campus. This has surely been a lifesaver and pick me up for UT students throughout the years.
